Hello All -

Today is a tough day. A very tough day. After much thought, bantering & many tears, David and I have made the decision to not reopen PattiCakes Bakery.

Last week we went to a cabin in Colorado to consider our options. The reality is I will be 66 tomorrow. If we rebuilt our warehouse downtown, I would be at least 67 when it was time to reassemble a new team. There are so many moving parts in food service. I simply don’t have the “want to” for this massive undertaking.

The PattiCakes behind Stoby’s is being converted into Stoby’s production (we are still waiting on equipment). Stobys desserts are being made in the old PattiCakes. And very soon we will have a dessert display case in the hostess area of Stoby’s where whole desserts can be purchased.

For our customers, thank you is inadequate. You all have made these last 18 years fly by. For my team members, each of you are simply the best. I will love each of you forever.

So what does the future hold for our, now vacant, lot downtown? Brad Lacy, President of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce & Conway Development Corporation, “summoned” us for dinner shortly after the fire to suggest building a boutique micro-hotel. We are pursuing this and are really quite excited about it. The idea is retail on the first floor & 8 rooms on the second floor. The new structure would take up the front half of the lot with gated parking in the back. If this project reaches fruition, we will post about it here.

Again, I would like to thank all of you for trusting us with your baking needs. This is a hard chapter to close.

For our Friends who have pre-ordered custom cakes for this week, we are going to do our best to make it happen, but we won't have confirmation until later today or possibly tomorrow morning. If, for some reason, we cannot fulfill your order, we will call you as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We are receiving a lot of messages right now, but we promise to make you our priority.

Hi Friends. Unfortunately, we produced 98% of our goods at our beautiful Downtown Location every day. All of our large equipment, large mixers, ovens, and production space were there. The fire, the devastation, it's a lot to take in, and right now, it's really hard to process. We don't know exactly when we will be back up and running or when we will be able to fill cases and orders for you. For that reason, we've made the decision to turn off our online ordering system, and we will remain closed until further notice. We appreciate your comments and your concerns, your prayers and your love. We may not be able to respond to all of your comments, messages, and texts right away, but please know we read and appreciate each and every one. Thank you.

PattiCakes Bakery will be closed Monday, January 15th due to weather. We apologize for any inconvenience. Check back here for updates as we continue to monitor the weather.

All PattiCakes Bakery Locations will be closed tomorrow for New Year's Day, but we invite you to bring your family in to mingle with ours and partake in our favorite New Year's lunch tradition at Stoby's - black-eyed peas, turnip greens, country ham, and cornbread. Mix and match. Order all as a meal, or add a side of black-eyed peas to your favorite lunch or dinner menu items for good luck and good measure.

A quick update on our hours for New Year's. We will be open during normal business hours on Saturday, closed as usual on Sunday, and both locations will be closed on Monday, January 1st, New Year's Day. Happy Holidays!

Thank you to the always generous PattiCakes Bakery for their donation to Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance. I’m gonna cut right to the chase … this is one of our very best bakeries in the state. Please go visit either of their Conway locations.

Effective Immediately, both PattiCakes locations will go to curbside pickup only. You can pull up out front & call in an order or call ahead. We will be adding another phone line at Robinson today to help.

The hours at PattiCakes Robinson will be 10am-7pm
(closing an hour earlier).
The hours at PattiCakes Downtown will be 8am-3pm (opening 1/2 hour later & closing 1/2 hour earlier).

Although bakeries are listed under Essential Services, personally I am uncomfortable having face to face interaction with so many people daily, even with Social Distancing and extra sanitation methods. The first day I opened PattiCakes, I made a vow to never ask an employee to do something I wasn't will to do. I still stand by that.
