Had 24 in jail church this week. 9 inmates accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Topic tonight was Understanding God's grace. We spoke on, "How gratitude can change your attitude." The lady guard over the intercom called me "The church man". The inmates wanted to sing a song to me called, "Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary."
One of the prisoner's daughter will have a birthday the next day. He won't be able to be there and he was crying. He told me that God was speaking to him all through the service. First, there was a hymn that we sang that he said was his mother's favorite. He said the topic was on "Grace" and his daughter's middle name is grace. He said when it was his turn to read the scripture he chose to read, he didn't realize, but it was his mother's favorite scripture. He had a good job of repairing desiel engines, but now he says he can't get hired back, because he'll have a felony conviction on his record.He took a dose of drugs to try to kill himself. His wife left him and took the kids. She said she didn't love him anymore, and it drove him into depression. I prayed with him after the service that the Lord would encourage him and help him. I prayed that God’s will would be accomplished in and through his life. Trying to give hope to every one of those men and encourage them to not give up and seek God.

(535 haircuts) this year so far. Now duct tape & make-shift cardboard door with cut-out for a portable a/c unit will get us by till we can raise $6,000 for a replacement HVAC unit that cools our laundry mat (593 loads this yr.), bathrooms, (160 showers this yr.) and dressing rooms.
