It’s a Christmas miracle! 🎁 After nearly a DECADE of prayers, hopes, and dreams, IT IS HAPPENING! We are closing on a motel next week!! The date is set. We are about to hold the keys to Conway’s future family shelter! ☑️ Temporary bank financing has been secured so we can buy the property now while we continue our capital campaign. ☑️ We’ve received our Conditional Use Permit from the city to launch a shelter. Many are asking when we’ll launch the family shelter. The answer is “it all depends”. We’ve identified the property. We’ve secured the permits. We’ve tested the shelter program model with amazing success. We are ready. It all comes down to funding now. Child homelessness in Faulkner County has increased an alarming 46% since 2020. We believe that this community can change the narrative. We believe that if our citizens commit to providing safe shelter to our homeless children, our most vulnerable could have access to shelter and top quality services and resources in a few short months! We are so close! The Refuge Shelter will also provide respite shelter to those with disabilities or medical needs. There are currently zero emergency shelters providing respite care in Arkansas.
