Saturday night we had the privilege to celebrate several talented designers from ASID South Central Chapter. Among those were our very own Addison Moy! From a recent collaboration with Toni Gocke Wyre, we brought home three awards, including Commercial Design Project of the Year!

We met on site yesterday to check out the framing for the new Conway Psychological Assessment Center. Seeing our clients’ vision emerge from the ground is one of the best parts of our job. Stay tuned as we follow this project through construction!

Gil comes to H + N with 25+ years combined experience in construction and architecture, having worked as a draftsman and estimator for a general contracting firm, draftsman for a national residential design firm and as project manager in architecture firms in Northeast Arkansas prior to attending the University of Arkansas where he received his B.Arch in 2008. While attending the U of A in the Spring of 2007 he studied urban form at the University of Arkansas Rome Center. He was also involved in extensive hands-on learning for two semesters through the Design Build Program furthering his knowledge of construction management, techniques, and detailing. Upon graduation he gained 14+ years’ experience as a Designer, Project Architect, and Program Manager for both national and local architecture firms located in Northwest Arkansas.
As Project Architect at H+N, he is working on the design and administration for multiple exciting projects. Gil Newnum

Meet our new Design Intern, Austin Watts! Austin is a recent graduate from the University of Central Arkansas. Austin’s passion for architecture and design came from his love for art all throughout his life.

“I saw art as a way to not only express myself but to impact others in a very meaningful way. I wanted to translate that desire to a career that I could combine a love for improving the lives of other people, and a knack for creativity, and technology. As I continue to follow my dreams and aspirations, I hope to leave a lasting legacy of intentionality, and purpose driven love for others.”

H+N was proud to be a part of the Downtown Partnership Annual Meeting last night at the St. Joseph Spiritan Center. It was a beautiful night to celebrate how downtown has grown over the last 20 years including the most recent addition of St. Joseph’s new high school. We also got to celebrate future downtown developments including two more H+N projects underway. We’re grateful to be a part of such a supportive community and to get the chance to help shape our downtown. Great job, Conway, Kim Williams, and the Downtown Partnership!

It was a beautiful morning for St. Joseph High School Topping Out Ceremony! It is a privilege to be part of shaping the education for students.

Children’s Advocacy Alliance is celebrating their 20th Annual Festival of Chairs, October 19th. Food will be provided by local restaurants, beer and wine, and dueling pianos. The continued support from the community helps this amazing organization provide services to neglected and/or abused children.

What a difference a week can make! If you’re driving downtown, you can’t help but notice that big things are happening on the St. Joseph High School jobsite. Follow us to stay up to date on the construction progress and to hear of other exciting projects underway.

H+N had the honor to work alongside Nabholz Corporation and Freeman Family Medicine to complete their new clinic here in Conway. Their new facility features a waiting room with lots of natural light, comforting exam rooms, and an efficient nurse’s station all with nods to the owner’s love for the St Louis Cardinals Baseball. Thank you, Freeman Family Medicine for allowing H+N Architects to be a part of this fun and rewarding project.

Meet our fall intern, Addison Moy! Addison is a senior Interior Design student at University of Central Arkansas. Addison got started in interior design for the creative outlet that provides positive effects on health, education, and personal comfort.

“Public facilities and the people who use them can benefit tremendously from a thoughtfully designed space and I've really fallen in love with the entire process. I have always wanted to help people feel more at peace in any way that I can and I view interior design as a great avenue to do so.”
