Since today is the last day the CWC will be open for the semester, we’d like to showcase our five graduating tutors and two graduate assistants. They have been an invaluable part of our center and will be greatly missed as they head off on their next endeavors.

But! We know that the CWC will be in amazing hands with our new and returning tutors that will continue to help students with their writing and communication skills. The CWC will reopen for Summer I session. Stay tuned for hours!

Happy finals week! The CWC will be open Monday through Wednesday this week to get in any last minute appointments before you submit your finals. Spots are filling up quickly, so book your slot ASAP!

The CWC closed out our last day of the semester with a potluck party today! We are saying goodbye to five tutors and two graduate assistants, but are looking forward to all the new faces we’ll have around the center next year. Thanks to all our clients for providing us a great year of writing and communicating!

We will be closed tomorrow for Study Day, but will reopen for finals week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Some of our CWC staff will be at the campus jobs Career Fair tomorrow at the Student Center Ballroom to talk about what it takes to be a tutor! Stop by between 12:00 and 2:00 to talk to us, or check the link in our bio to see more about what being a tutor is all about!

Spring break is here and the CWC will be closed for the duration of break next week. See you on Monday, March 25th!

This past weekend, five of our tutors and one of our graduate assistants accompanied directors Dr. Carey Clark and Katherine Bray to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to present at the SCWCA Conference. Both groups presented on multimodal tutoring techniques. The CWC is working on expanding our tutoring services to include different mediums to better help our students succeed.

Our attendance at the conference could not have been possible without support. If you are interested in supporting the CWC as we continue to research multimodal tutoring and learning from our peers in settings like the SCWCA Conference and beyond, consider supporting the Center for Writing & Communication Fund. The UCA Day of Giving is quickly approaching, and we'd like to ask you to support the important work we do. We hold an average of 1,800 appointments each year with students who are working on a variety of projects, from Biology lab reports, to first-year research papers, to individual and group presentations, to graduate theses and dissertations. We're also adapting to tutor students on multimodal projects like websites, podcasts, infographics, and more! So as you can imagine, ongoing professional development is key. The Center for Writing & Communication fund is key to providing ongoing education for our staff.

The CWC is closed for the semester! Good luck with the rest of finals week and congratulations on finishing up the year!

We had our CWC end of the year staff party today! Thank you to everyone that’s come to the CWC to work with our tutors; it’s been a pleasure to help you with your academic careers!

Don’t worry we’ll still be open tomorrow!

The CWC has four graduating seniors this semester! We’ll miss them very much but are so proud of what they have and will accomplish!

Eliza is moving to Memphis, TN to begin dental school in July at UTHSC to obtain her DDS. Her overall goal is to specialize in pediatric dentistry and to open her own clinic one day.

Madison will be attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee to receive her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Haydyn will serve in a one-year fellowship as a Newman Civic Fellow, a program that engages student leaders by helping them develop strategies for positive social change. After completing the fellowship, she will later attend a joint law degree program to earn a Masters of Arts in Public Policy and a Juris Doctorate. This will contribute to pursuing a career in immigration law.

Cameron will stay in Conway and spend a gap year continuing her work as a Direct Support Professional. She plans to attend graduate school for psychology in the future.

But don’t worry! We will be back open during finals week on Monday (8:30-2:30), Tuesday (8:30-2:30;6:00-9:00), and Wednesday (8:30-2:30)! Grab an appointment on Navigate before we book up!
