Technological Breakthroughs in Aviation!
Welcome back to our informational series discussing emerging technologies and how they are shaping the aviation industry. Let’s look at Interactive Multimedia Instruction, IMI.
Over the years, student learning has evolved to become more accessible and hands-on. These two factors are essential for those studying to become Aviation Maintenance Technicians. IMI transforms the learning experience by boosting flexibility and student engagement, all while cutting costs
Here at ARCS, we developed Ekanos - an interactive e-book for the FAA AMT Curriculum. Ekanos utilizes IMI to create unique and practical learning opportunities for its users.
Has IMI assisted your learning?

Technological Breakthroughs in Aviation!
This week, let’s discover the ins and outs of Augmented Reality and how it enhances different aviation industry sectors!
Most notably, AR is very instrumental in improving maintenance operations. With this technology, issues can be identified by overlaying X-ray or thermal images. AR can also provide information and instructions to technicians on site. Problems are addressed earlier in the process and resolved using the capabilities of augmented reality.
AR can assist not only with aircraft maintenance but also with design. Utilizing augmented reality allows teams to visualize the aircraft with 3D models, reducing the number of physical prototypes.
Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality work hand in hand to create more efficient processes for the Aviation Industry!
See the graphic below for an example of Augmented Reality.
Technological Breakthroughs in Aviation! 📢
Welcome back to our informational series about advancements being made in the aviation field through groundbreaking technology. This week let’s talk about Artificial Intelligence!
The most common introduction of AI has been in airports. AI is streamlining passenger check-ins, security processes, and baggage handling, making your travel plans smoother. The use of technology has optimized runway traffic, reduced the number of delays, and advanced safety with surveillance systems.
Artificial Intelligence is changing the game for how we travel and leaving airports with more efficient outcomes.
Has AI positively impacted your travel?
Technological Breakthroughs in Aviation! 📢
This month, we want to inform you about the endless abilities of technology within the aviation industry. Let’s talk about virtual reality!
One of the most effective uses of VR is during training. The cabin crew, ground crew, and pilots undergo extensive training before they can perform their duties. Utilizing virtual reality is easier and more cost-effective, creating a better learning experience for the trainee.
But how can VR transform your experience, the customer? Significant airlines are investing in VR technology to provide a new experience for those boarding their planes. Entertainment has always been a staple in the airline industry, and virtual reality is the key to unlocking more outstanding success.
Have you experienced VR in aviation?

For over two hundred years, our country has celebrated freedom and liberty, and it would not be possible without sacrifice. We give our sincere gratitude to the brave men and women who have fought and given their all.
Let us cherish the moments we have and always strive for a brighter future!
Exciting Milestone for ARCS Aviation! 🎉
This week, Vice President Brian Bleck and software developers Nathan Melton and Israel White delivered our Paint ScannAR system to Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. ARCS developed this Paint ScannAR system with the WR-ALC Corrosion Control as the end user through a series of contracts with the United States Air Force.
Our first SBIR contract was awarded in the summer of 2020, and since then ARCS has created and improved the system; recently, developing new features and implementing at a second major Air Force maintenance location. The Paint ScannAR system integrates commercial Augmented Reality technology with a third-party paint thickness scanner to present results with data-rich icons within the user’s field of view, tagging the data in the 3D space, showing problems in real-time, and saving results for later review and analysis.
This system has successfully been a part of the RSO's mission to bring the future of technology into today’s world by injecting game-changing solutions into the sustainment enterprise. We believe there is an exciting future for Paint ScannAR!
