Putnam County 4-H (Tennessee)
Putnam County 4-H is the youth development program of UT Extension.
The 4-H program helps young people develop the life skills needed to become capable, responsible and caring citizens. Through local 4-H clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camp and many other activities, 4-H’ers have fun, make lasting friendships, enjoy “hands-on” learning experiences and get involved in their communities.

Congratulations to our 4-H FCS Skillathon team! Our Sr team was 🥇1st place in the Central Region Contest, earning them a trip to the state contest in October.
Evelyn Jones was 1st High Individual Overall and Kayla Mick was 10th Individual in the Sr. Contest.
Ava Moody was 8th High Individual in the Jr. High Contest.

It’s been a good morning for a pet show at the Putnam County Fair!
Congratulations to our Forestry Judging team on their success at the National 4-H Forestry Invitational in Weston, WV this last week! They finished 5th in the nation in a tough contest! Britta also took 6th high individual and high overall in tree measurement.
We couldn’t be any prouder of of Bailey, Britta, Cadence, and Kinley! They have been competing in forestry, among many other projects, since the 4th grade. All four are outstanding, hard working, and passionate about everything they do in life. We can’t wait to see what they do with their future!
We have arrived in West Virginia and enjoying our practice day at the National 4-H Forestry Invitational. Wish our kiddos good luck as the contest starts later this afternoon!

Six Putnam County 4-H members met the bus this morning and are off to 4-H Electric Camp in Knoxville this week! We hope they enjoy their week at UT learning about electricity, science, and having fun at Dollywood!
