Citizens Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Marty Maynord of Livingston, Tennessee, as a new director of the bank. Maynord was Chief Executive Officer of American Bank & Trust from 2009 until 2021 when it merged into Citizens Bank. His banking career has spanned thirty years, including bank management and lending roles. He retired in 2022 to assist with a family real estate business and enjoy more free time. He currently serves as the CFO and licensed real estate agent of The Realty Firm in Cookeville, Tennessee.

“It is great to have Marty come back home to our bank. Our customers and employees will certainly embrace his re-joining the bank as he brings considerable talent, 30 years of banking expertise, and an abundance of energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have him by our side as we continue to strengthen our local Middle Tennessee communities,” said Pete Williston, Chief Executive Officer.

A 1995 graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Accounting, Maynord has served Overton and Putnam Counties as Chairman of both the Cookeville and Livingston Chambers of Commerce, and as a member and President of the Livingston Rotary Club. Mr. Maynord resides in Overton County on his farm.

“The close relationship between a community bank and its local communities is important to me and that is what brought me back to Citizens Bank. I see a vital role that community banks play in our area and am happy to bring my expertise to further Citizens Bank’s success,” said Marty Maynord.

Also at its recent board meeting, the Citizens board of directors elected Mr. Maynord as its Chairman, drawing on his extensive banking experience. This move will serve the bank well as it moves forward with management succession planning for its next generation of leadership.
