Funny timing, right? No...not really. I know that we're all probably suffering from drier than normal hair right now. How do you know if you're suffering from dry hair, though?
Ask yourself:

❄️Is my hair dull, frizzy, or full of static?

❄️Is my hair brittle with split ends?

❄️Does my scalp itch like crazy or maybe even a bit flakey right now?

❄️Lastly, is the rest of my body dry and itchy feeling?

Chances are YOU have dry hair right now. It's just facts. Seasonal changes bring on humidity changes as well as interior temperature changes. It might be cold outside,so now all of a sudden you're running your heater and likely drying out your hair's moisture even at home. You might wake up and feel chilly ,o you want to take a hot, HOT shower to warm up. (PLEASE DON'T!!! 😬)

I'm so glad you asked! First, please turn down the heat on your regular showers. You can have it hot for some of the shower (I guess... 🙄) but really y,ur whole body will benefit from at least a SLIGHTLY cooler shower. I'm not saying "?,𝚗𝚕𝚢 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚍 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚜", I' just saying cooler than HOT.

Lots of us are very particular about our hair. This lovely lady has, in fact, been lurking in the shadows watching my work for over a year before making the move to have a consultation with me and ultimately booking a balayage and haircut. I can't wait to see what we do next!

Not often that I share guys pics on here!! Check out Laurent! We've been trying to achieve the perfect grey to incorporate into his silver fox look, and I think Schwarzkopf knocked it out of the park on this one! We used their IGORA Silver Whites in Slate Grey. I'm a FAN! He got nervous during processing (he always does 🤭) so we took it off a little early to keep his heart rate down. We got a great reaction from his wife, who excitedly says he looks younger and is looking forward to his next visit.

Can I be honest?

I hate these photos.
I'm so disappointed. This was a big makeover I did April of 2022 and I am SO freaking proud of how it looked, but the color in the photography came out all wrong. To see it in person, was STUNNING. I loved the artistry that took place and the time that she and I got to spend together creating it. Ruined by poor lighting. I could alter the photos, but I won't. I know it was a gorgeous. The technique was on point and I think that is the message that comes across in the pictures.

BEFORE & AFTER! Haircut and hair color

It was not a drastic change in the color, but it definitely added shine and subtle richness rather than her previous balayage. Some variations in photography exposure are beautiful in any light.

Haircut, on the other hand, was relatively drastic, but such a relief and much easier to maintain. Lovely layers will look gorgeous with her natural texture or when it's styled with a blowout or curling iron.

Happy to see this new Mama again and give her a little break from always caring for others.

Just had a new client come in having previously been wrecked by a handful of area stylists. I'm not sure what was going on in these other salons that they were inflicting so much damage on her hair, but trust me when I say she was terrified of who to go to next. She's new-ish to the area and assuming now that Texas hairstylists just don't know how to get hair more blonde without frying it off. Thankfully, I have K-18 and Schwarzkopf BlondMe on hand as my trusty sidekick in brightening her hair with minimal damage. We had so much fun and connected so well that I can't wait to see her again just so we can have more fun! (And more blonde! 🤩)

Life update: I've been spending most of my hours at the hospital the last two weeks. I have been both working and having to call out due to varying levels of severity with my mom's condition. If you have tried to contact me and I didn't respond, I am sorry. Sometimes I forget, and sometimes I don't have the mental capacity to handle work when I'm trying to help take care of my mom's health. I will be working diligently to get everyone rescheduled as quickly as possible. I truly value each of you who come to see me, and I don't mean any disrespect for your time when I need to cancel. Thank you for treating me with kindness and understanding through this unusual time.

On Sunday, September 3rd, Jamie and I attended the Core Talent 20th Anniversary Entertainment Industry Mixer at . She had been invited because she was an inspiration and driving force to encourage Theresa to get the biz up and running, and Theresa wanted to make sure all her peeps, from even WAAAAAY back 😉, were there to celebrate with her.

Jamie and I love to find a good reason to get dressed up and have a good time! Between the mingling with other party goers, we took time to have our own little photo shoot as well.

When I tell y'all that I'm excited to show you this transformation... that doesn't even come close to encompassing my thrill with this new look! She often allows me to do whatever I feel like within the range of things that she typically feels comfortable with. This visit, she encouraged me to surprise her and I 🏃🏻‍♀️RAN with it. Right off the bat, I grabbed her pony tail and chopped that sucker off 😂 (yes, it does still fit in a pony 🙄)

From there, we started working on color with a focus on grey blending. I have been obsessed with Schwarzkopf BlondeME for a few years now, but lately have been playing with their 10 minute root coverage and 😍 loving the results!
