Teaching future conservationists about endangered species protection! Thanks to awesome turtle team volunteer, Kiko (aka ‘Turtilla’) for helping to teach Gifft Hill School Pre-K students about turtles today at Hawksnest! 🐢💙

🐢Help us protect our endangered sea turtle population:
- Please do not touch the turtles and keep a distance of at least 6 feet.
- Report any signs of nesting activity.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen.
- Dispose of trash properly particularly single use plastics like bags and straws.

Virgin Islands National Park Gifft Hill School

We just got our first review and it was 5 star! Yay us! Here it is:

This place is great! The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The deck was great to sit out on and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and we used the grill every evening. The water filtration system is awesome and the owners provided ice cube trays which we used every day to enjoy a blended drink after returning from exploring the island. Overall, definitely would give them five stars. The owners are very responsive and check to make sure the stay is going well. Would definitely stay here again!

Proof of how glamorous owning a home in the Caribbean is! Sometimes there’s only one brand of paint on the whole island, so you have to use your least favorite brand that splatters all over the place, even working inside on a day with 110 heat index, you sweat through three or more shirts, and on any construction site accidents are bound to happen.

Second coat of paint complete and floor down in the family room! Bedroom second coat of paint complete! Now we need painkillers!

The walls have their first coat! Eric put up a trim piece where the drywall ends. Catherine can’t decide if it should be painted the wall color or left white. Thoughts?
