Experience the extraordinary surrealist works of esteemed Cuban artists Wifredo Lam, Agustín Cárdenas, Angel Acosta León, Roberto Fabelo, Gina Pellón, Manuel Mendive, Vicente Hernández, Jorge Camacho, Carmelo González, Antonio Gattorno, Jose Maria Mijares, Carlos Enríquez, among others.

Last Friday evening, Cernuda Arte hosted a wonderful concert - “The Musical Imprint of Hispanic Heritage”. Guitar virtuoso, arranger and composer, Alberto Puerto, together with his guest musicians - Otto Santana (percussion & voice), Yamilé Pedro (cello) and Yina Hurtado (voice & charango) took us through a rich cultural repertoire of celebrated works of Spanish and Latin American music, as part of the present festivities of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The concert included a range of genres (classical as well as traditional pieces) with interesting commentaries on the music and composers. Gined López Ganem was the Executive Producer, and Lester Carrodeguas, the Sound Engineer.

All in all, it was a memorable experience with superb musicians who delivered a brilliant performance to a ‘Full House’ enthralled audience. The music, skill and passion were amazing!

A warm thank you to friends, family, the Cernuda Arte team, and all who attended this special event at the gallery. Thank you all again, for your enthusiasm and kindness.

Cernuda Arte celebrates the achievements of represented artist, Roberto Fabelo. The international multimedia artist has been honored with a series of remarkable exhibitions at renowned arts institutions.

Fabelo’s captivating artwork takes center stage in a solo show, "Divertimientos" at the Goya Museum, Zaragoza, Spain. This powerful exhibition opened June 22 and runs until Sept. 24. Gallery founders Ramón & Nercys Cernuda were present to show their support for Fabelo on behalf of Cernuda Arte.

This latest exhibition follows a string of significant shows at prestigious arts venues both in the United States and abroad. One of these noteworthy displays is the acclaimed two-person show, "Mundos. Goya y Fabelo," on view at the Museo Conde Duque in Madrid. This exhibition, featuring works by legendary master Francisco Goya and Roberto Fabelo runs until July 30.

Earlier this year, Roberto Fabelo unveiled his impactful installation, "Survivors (Sobrevivientes), " at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The exhibition showcased the artist’s newest sculpture series: a herd of intricately crafted, life-size rhinoceroses that raise awareness about the vulnerability of these creatures and their habitat. This thought-provoking work garnered national attention and was profiled in the Forbes article “Not Just Fish: Rhinos Need Rivers Too,” April 27, 2023. Additionally, sculptures from the series were displayed at the Museo Conde Duque in Madrid.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Roberto Fabelo for his well-deserved recognitions, and invite friends and collectors to visit these world-class exhibitions.

Cernuda Arte is excited to announce two new video presentations on the Gallery YouTube Channel.

The two-day lecture series by art critic, historian and scholar, Professor Alejandro Anreus, is currently available online at the links below:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQQblnl6md0ahJmLygXD8mQ

Amelia Peláez (1896 - 1968): An Overview

Amelia Peláez is recognized as one of the major artists of Cuba, Latin America, and of the 20th century. This lecture provides an overview of her work, and places it in context with the trends of her time and underlines the uniqueness of her visual language, as well as her influence on other artists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NugazkyoxnU

Two Visionary Artists: Gina Pellón & DEMI

Gina Pellón (1926-2014) belonged to the third Vanguardia Generation of Cuban art, those born in the 1920s, who came of age as artists in the 1950's and early 1960's. She went into exile in 1959 and spent the rest of her life in Paris. Pellón developed a unique, gestural expressionism and was associated with the CoBRA group in Europe.

DEMI (b. 1955) is a product of the Cuban exile who began painting in the 1980's after earning a living as an accountant and pursuing an acting career. Her style is uniquely hers, reminding us of dreams and memories, suffering and redemption.

Both of these artists are visionaries, rejecting the latest fads and remaining true to their individual voices. This lecture introduces the lives and works of these two painters.
