Starting August 17, 2024, NARβs mandatory MLS policy changes will take effect. These changes are part of a settlement requiring NAR to implement new practices by the earliest class notice date, which is now confirmed to be August 17.
Hereβs whatβs changing:
πΉ No more required offers of compensation on an MLS between listing brokers/sellers and buyer brokers/representatives.
πΉ Retained and defined βcooperationβ for MLS Participation.
πΉ Elimination of compensation fields and information on MLS.
πΉ Prohibition of non-MLS mechanisms for making offers of compensation.
πΉ Prohibition of using MLS data to establish compensation platforms.
πΉ Reinforced rule against filtering MLS listings based on compensation levels or brokerage names.
