South Florida roadways have a high number of bicycle traffic. Unfortunately, motorists often do not properly share the road with cyclists. Florida has very specific laws governing bicycles. Cyclists have all of the rights and duties of a driver of any other vehicle with some exceptions. Cyclists must ride the bicycle in the lane designated for bicycle use. If no lane is marked for bicycle use, cyclists must ride on the roadway as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, except under very specific situations. Tesla shares have dropped over the last 24 hours as U.S. auto safety regulators have opened an investigation into Tesla’s Autopilot advanced driver assistance system. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has identified 11 accidents since January 2018, resulting in 17 injuries and 1 fatality. These accidents happened after dark and involve parked emergency vehicles such as fire rescue trucks and police vehicles. 765,000 US vehicles with Autopilot will be investigated. The auto safety agency could demand a recall, which can restrict when and where Autopilot operates. The agency could also decide not to take any action. A NHTSA spokesperson stated that no commercially available motor vehicles are capable of driving themselves. What are your thoughts?
