I join the statement of the G7 Foreign Ministers on Venezuela. We express our solidarity with the people of Venezuela, who voted in large numbers on July 28. There is conclusive evidence that the elected president is Edmundo González. It is crucial that the results reflect the will of the Venezuelan people. The murderous dictator Nicolás Maduro must step down and relinquish power and pay for all he and his accomplices have done. We call for full transparency and the immediate sharing of information with the opposition and independent observers. We call for peace and democracy in Venezuela.
