Just a reminder regarding this heat we're having, hydration and water.

You have to plan ahead with your water intake. Drinking before you feel dehydrated or thirsty is the most important.

If you're feeling symptoms of dehydration, you have to get out of the sun and sip on water. NO MORE than 16-32 oz per hour. Plus, consuming electrolytes can help.

You can quickly die from water intoxication. Too much water too quickly throws off your electrolyte balances. I was reminded about all of this this morning when I saw a young lady on the news who was suffering symptoms of dehydration and drank 64 oz of water in 20 minutes and died. Every summer I hear of similar incidents.

Why you should incorporate dates into your diet:

An adult can survive on only 15 date fruits per day if necessary. One cup of dates has about 380 calories, 27 per cent of the recommended daily requirement of potassium and 48 per cent of daily fibre needs. They also provide calcium, zinc, iron, copper, magnesium, calcium and other minerals that may help lower blood pressure, stroke risk and labour complications.

•Dates suppress sugar cravings.

•Date fruits stones are used for making soap and even eyeliners.

•Very few people are allergic to this fruit.

•Their low water and high sugar content gives them a shelf-life of many months, up to a year if stored correctly.

•Because the tree and its fruit have so many uses — from food to building materials — the date palm is known as the ‘tree of life’ in the Middle East, and it’s the national symbol of Saudi Arabia.

•Date palm seeds can go dormant for decades until the right light and water conditions present themselves.

•Dates were probably cultivated about 8,000 years ago in present-day Iraq.

•Date palm trees need at least 100 days of 100ºF heat and plenty of water to produce the best quality fruit.

•There are so many different types of date fruit. The UAE has more than 199 different types, with around 44 million palm trees. The TOP date producing country is Egypt.

•Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics mark years with images of full date palms, as the trees grow 12 new fronds a year.

•About 3 per cent of the earth’s farmland is covered by date palms, producing four million tons a year.

•There are more than 200 varieties of dates. Majdool, large and caramel-like, is the hardest to grow, and therefore one of the most expensive to buy..

•While they are high in sugar (about 93 grams per cup), many varieties have a low glycaemic index (GI), due to the fact that its fruit sugar is high in dietary fibre.

•Dates are mentioned several times in the Bible, and are the most frequently mentioned fruit in the Quran, probably ancestors to the oldest-known seed planted successfully in modern times.

•In Oman, when a son is born, they plant him a date tree. The date tree grows together with him and assures him that his family will never suffer from hunger.

•Bedouin tribes of the Middle East, who eat a high percentage of dates in their diet, have one of the lowest rates of cancer.

•The date palm is a very salt tolerant tree, and will grow well in alkaline soils where other plants will not. They are sometimes irrigated with ocean water.

•The high calories and excellent nutritional value, plus their ability to keep well for long periods of time, make dates great for emergency food rations.

How To Store Dates
Store in an airtight container either in the fridge (up to a year) or at room temperature (a few months).
How can they stay good for this long? Dates have the lowest moisture content of any whole fruit, only 30%, meaning they’re naturally dehydrated! As they age, the sugars in the date will gradually move to the surface, forming little sugar white spots. Fret not, these are not mold.

For those that know what I've been going through this last month you'll understand my joy!! It's hard starting over and trying not to get discouraged because you weren't where you were mentally and physically 8 months ago but you set aside a goal at 3 week intervals and with consistency you'll be better in 3 weeks and then you'll be better in 6 weeks and better in 9 weeks!!

Well I'll be damn!! Is that my left touching my left ??!!! 😲They haven't seen each other in fo-eva, I'm talking years!! After ACL surgery I was told it won't ever have full ROM, HA! Bi***es!
My surgery is heeling amazing!! No more back ! Have not been able to for 6 weeks!!! So I've been working on my lil crunches and with a vest.
Yesterday said I can start on machine light weights.... whatever that means😜. Today I taught and actually got a workout in with my class then trained glutes, abs, tris and chest then a stretch session.... I feel amazing👏 with the exception of a possible tear few days ago 🙄🙄 hopefully not an ACL issue, WTF body????!!! Come on man! I just want to get back to !!

☹ IT'S ONLY 10 DAYS POST SURGERY... I'm little more mobile. Not sure if I'm or
while everyone else moves forward. 10 days with no workout and pretty sure many more to follow 😥.
💪🏼Training has so many for me as well as It literally 'burns off the crazy'. Clears the cobwebs out ma head!
🏋I'll be doing all I can with some 10lb dumbbells for a while, nothing over head, no climbing like a monkey, no sit ups 😬, I love ab work!
🚶‍♀️ Was a challenge with my even as good as he is on walks. No weights, no problem!! My plan??? Walking, eventually adding a weighted vest, hiking🏄 and aqua training 🏊‍♀️Inspired by my friend ❤
