Corona is making important milestones to reduce homelessness in Corona...

The City of Corona is extremely pleased to provide an update on an exciting project called the Abode Communities Permanent Supportive Housing development. This project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to develop a solutions-oriented, system of services to address homelessness in Corona.

This project supports the following goals in our Homeless Strategic Plan:
✅ Goal #3 – Develop Permanent Supportive Housing Solutions
✅ Goal #6 – Develop Public/Private Partnerships to Support Plan Initiatives
✅ Goal #7 – Develop Partnerships with the County to Support Plan Initiatives

The Abode Communities project is a partnership between the State Housing/Community Development Department, County of Riverside Housing & Workforce Services Department, the Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health Department, and the City of Corona.

As part of a State HomeKey initiative, the Ayres Hotel at 1901 Frontage Road will be converted into 53 units of permanent supportive housing for Corona’s homeless neighbors.

As a permanent supportive housing project, tenants will benefit from affordable rents and onsite wrap-around services provided by the Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health Department. Permanent Supportive Housing is a national best practice and evidence-based intervention.

This housing model is proven to have a high success rate for housing retention even with the hardest to house, most service resistant chronically homeless. As a result, this project is critical to the success of the City’s Homeless Strategic Plan.
