Look at this group of committed and compassionate community leaders - they’re definitely shaping up to be the Best Class Ever 👏
Full report from our Opening Retreat at Camp Zephyr incoming, but we did want to take a minute to thank the Camp Staff, our presenters, and the Steering Committee for their hard work in pulling off such a fantastic weekend!
Day 2 at Camp Zephyr means team building exercises.
The saying goes: “It’s better to have a great team than a team of greats.” We’ve got both!
Today is the start of Opening Retreat for the next “Best Class Ever” at Camp Zephyr! What advice do you want to give them about their time in the program?
Thank you to the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce for hosting members of Leadership Corpus Christi Class 53 and Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association members during today’s State of the City event!
Everyone appreciated the opportunity to hear from Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo about the incredible work that is being done to move Corpus Christi forward
Two weeks ago Leadership Corpus Christi Class 53 officially got underway at their Orientation session at The Bay Jewel 🤩
The day started with headshots from Shoocha Photography and then class members got a chance to meet one another as well as the full steering committee. They heard from Al Arreola and Amy Granberry from the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, reflected on their leadership heroes and goals for the community, and heard stories about the awesome legacy of our program and how our alumni have been involved in major projects like CC4U (which made Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi a four year university), Shakas Up Sports, and Crawfish for a Cause Corpus Christi.
The evening then wrapped with words from the LCC52 Bell Keeper, Giselle Orozco, and the CLASS 53 WELCOME MIXER with the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association.
Feedback has been very positive and it feels like the class is eager to get started and get involved!
Special thank you to our sponsors:

We’ll have a full update on the Leadership Corpus Christi Class 53 Orientation session next week, but we wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who came out for our Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association CLASS 53 WELCOME MIXER last night. It was a great opportunity for the next “Best Class Ever” to get a chance to interact with our alumni and understand the reach of our network throughout the community!
Not all of our groups are Facebook official (no photos = doesn’t count), but they have all met ahead of Orientation on Thursday! Energy and enthusiasm are high - we can’t wait to get started on this journey 👏
Don’t forget to come mingle with the class at the 53 WELCOME MIXER (event linked below) on Thursday at The Bay Jewel. Doors open for dues paying alumni at 5:30. Hope to see you there!!

Special thanks to our sponsor, Bobby Hyatt - State Farm Insurance Agent, for making this possible!

First official POC pic of Leadership Corpus Christi Class 53 👏 🎉 🥳
POC: Tim Acosta, Port of Corpus Christi
Group Members:
- Amanda De Leon, American Bank
- Avery Durrill Reny, CSA Marketing
- Bobby Rodriguez, H-E-B
This is “Gen X, Y, Z.” The group name is derived from generations of which they are a part.
SteerCom 53 spent some time last night at La Palmera getting trained up on how to be a good POC (Point of Contact) for their small groups in the class. Thank you to Marisol Ramirez, Class 45; Chair 52, for taking the time to share some of your wisdom🙏
The major takeaway: focus on the class members and keep the lines of communication open.
It's shaping up to be a great year!!
Great way for our alumni to show their commitment to the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association and Leadership Corpus Christi program!
Photos are in from the Leadership Corpus Christi Past Chair’s Luncheon last week!
This incredibly special event has helped us build a platform for the class announcement that (1) re-engage with our history via the past chairs and (2) serves as a fundraiser for the program. With so many in attendance and over $5000 raised to support the next “Best Class Ever”, I think we can safely say that it was Mission Accomplished!
Special thank you to our sponsors for making this all possible: H-E-B, American Bank, Dawson's Recycling, Durrill Properties, First Title Company, Mylin Anandula, and WinSupply Corpus Christi, HVAC

https://www.texasstateaquarium.org/visit/about/history/
What a remarkable legacy for our alumni!
What other major initiatives are you aware of that our alumni have been participated in?
Happy 34th Anniversary to the entire Aquarium family! 🎉 On July 6, 1990, we celebrated our official opening to the public. In the last 34 years, thanks to the support of our community and visionary leadership, the Aquarium has more than doubled its size, adding a 26,000-square-foot Wildlife Rescue Center, and a 15,000-square-foot Splash Park. 🤩 Thank you to our guests, staff, members, donors, and followers who have made our mission of education, inspiration, and conservation possible for the past 34 years. 💙 We couldn't have come this far without your support. ✨
