The Coastal Bend Blood Center was incorporated 55 years ago on October 31, 1969 as Nueces County Medical Society Community Blood Bank. It has been a challenging, yet extremely rewarding 55 years serving our Coastal Bend community. While our buses and technology might have looked a little different back then, we still have the same lifesaving mission today & look forward to continue saving lives for many more years in our community. ❤️

The Coastal Bend Blood Center is happy to announce that we were able to successfully go live with our NEW Donor QuickPass software yesterday! Donor QuickPass enables our blood donors to now begin the donation process from the comfort of their homes or on the go, by answering the usual donor questions on their smart devices.

Here's the quick & easy process:
1. READ the educational materials
2. ANSWER the donor history questionnaire
3. PRINT, screenshot or email your Donor QuickPass QR Code

Please remember, the Donor QuickPass process can ONLY be completed the DAY OF YOUR DONATION & does not determine your eligibility to donate.

Please be patient with our team as we continue transitioning and learning our newest software, but we are sure this is a HUGE step in the right direction for continuing to give our donors the best experience while donating blood.

The Coastal Bend Blood Center raised over $2600 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer that helps the American Cancer Society fund cancer research, patient support, and advocacy efforts to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. 👚💕

A big thank you goes out to Flour Bluff High School’s Business Professionals Association for working with Chick-fil-A Flour Bluff to provide chicken biscuit breakfast sandwiches to our student blood donors that hadn’t eaten or didn’t have enough to eat this morning. 😋🥯 BPA Officer, Ruth also handed out digital offer cards to student donors! Way to go!! 👏🏼❤️

We are very excited to announce that H.O.S.T - Homeschool Organization of South Texas is now competing in our High School Hero Program amongst other high schools. Leland Garcia donated blood last week at Walmart Saratoga & was the first donor from H.O.S.T to donate blood for the Red Cord Program! 👏

Back in August, Roberta Schulze donated blood at the Need for Life Blood Drive & won the Red River Rivalry tickets!!! 🤘🏽🧡 Yesterday, her daughter (a UT alum) & husband enjoyed the state fair & the awesome game!! 👏🏼 Thank you for donating your lifesaving blood Roberta!
