Totally unlike me, I read a book. I finished this book in two days! This was so thought provoking. I posted a couple weeks ago that my New Years resolutions were to not buy any craft supplies in 2018. I seriously have spent thousands of dollars over the years on my next "big thing". I have always wanted to be an artist, a creator of things. I wanted to be "known" for something that I make. Something I create with my own two hands. The problem is that I never knew what that "thing" would be. I still don't. I've done it all. Knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving, drawing, jewelry making, block printing, soap making, paper making, scrapbooking, calligraphy, painting, and more that I can't think of now. Now that I am on disability for my damn back and don't have a job to go back to (yet) I am going on a journey to "use what I've got". That phrase happens to be my tag line for Go Hobo. It was the "how and why" my little cottage business started in 2008. Using old things and creating something new from them. What I make at Go Hobo has changed through the years but that idea has never disappeared. I haven't decided what my "thing" is yet that I will be known for making. But I will never stop creating. It is the one thing that consistently brings me joy. Turning a thought into something tangible. Through this process of decluttering my space and using what I already own I hope to find my thing. To keep my mind busy when my body maybe can't be. To make plans and see them through. To be resourceful.
Do yourself a favor. Read this book. It's very inspiring. Thank you for writing this book.
