Practical Arts teacher Mr. Bryant demonstrates a prototype of a handmade musical instrument that a lucky group of students will be creating with him this year! Here's an excerpt from a Q & A we did with Mr. Bryant for a recent newsletter. What do you find most satisfying or rewarding about teaching Practical Arts? First off, it has provided me the opportunity to be closely involved in my three youngest children’s lives while they were little. Secondly, I find it rewarding to see these kids grow and learn through the years. I have had students who have graduated from Waldorf, go to college, get married, have kids and finally, bring their children to Waldorf and end up being second generation students of mine. If you could build anything with no time or money constraints, what would it be? I built my 4000 sq. ft home in Chatsworth, CA single handedly, completing it in 2012. It took me seven years. Are there projects you are particularly excited to create with our students this year? I am excited to help these folks strengthen their will forces. Every project we make does that! Name a favorite activity outside of teaching. Singing to my dogs and cats! #waldorfwoodwork #waldorfeducation #experientialeducation
