We had a great day! Joan and Jeff Pet Place International, Inc. are amazing! Thank you 2 Dawg Nite In-Home Pet care! This is Jake, he is Ridgeback mix, smart as can be and needs a home.

Miracle doggie Stetson, who survived being abandoned by the train tracks in the high desert and run over by a car, resulting in multiple pelvic fractures and other injuries, has received a clean bill of health and is ready for his neuter appointment! Yay, Stetson! 🎉

That's the good news.

The bad news is that our resources have been depleted this week as a result of the extreme heat conditions and the purchase of misters, fans, clippers, ice, etc. to keep the animals cool and safe. 🥵 We do have an emergency heat fundraiser in progress but we need your help to raise $375 today for Stetson's neuter, which is scheduled for tomorrow. Mutts in Need

CHESAPEAKE

Chesapeake was surrendered to the shelter by his former owner. He caught the eye of one of our fosters who loves the silver sweeties, and she scooped him to safety. Chesapeake immediately made himself at home and integrated himself in the day to day life with the other dogs.

Chesapeake is well mannered around the house, rides well in the car and is pretty low key. He would prefer a home that is on the more mellow side with not a ton of coming and going and he’s not a fan of kitty cats. Chesapeake loves to give kisses and is pretty social with new people he meets after a tiny warm up.

He would benefit from a little one on one leash work and confidence building. He’s super food motivated and will happily take chicken or cheese as a special treat. Chesapeake is a 7 years 26 lb Dachshund mix. He’s going to make a wonderful addition for a family looking for a salt and pepper sweetie. Could that be you? Apply at: www.lovebugsrescue.org

Sweet Pea has been waiting for over 6 weeks for someone to give her a chance at being a family member again. She was clearly used to have puppies and when no longer to able to produce liters of pups, left at a shelter and not given a second thought.

Sweet Pea as a result of spending most of her life in a puppy mill type environment is not comfortable around other dogs and does best as an only pet, she is very good around people, gives paw and seeks human attention for approval whenever she can.

She us estimated to be about 6 years old, has dry eye and otherwise a very healthy Bulldog. www.rescuebulldogs.org/bulldogs/8174

Beautiful Pup! Look at these eyes!

We saved Denali from an overcrowded Inland Empire animal shelter where he had run out of time. He now lives in a foster home where there are other dogs - large and small - and does well with all of them!

This big boy with the gorgeous eyes and most expressive muzzle is housebroken and crate trained, does well on a leash, and isn't reactive to other animals or strangers who happen to be near him while out and about. His preferred activity, however, is being pet by his foster mom and dad.

It is apparent that Denali wasn't socialized with people as a puppy and probably experienced someone with a heavy hand. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he isn't a dog who is going to run up to strangers and ask for affection. After moving from the shelter to his foster home, he learned to trust his foster parents and you'd never know how scared he used to be if you saw him interact with them. He is playful with other dogs and loves to engage and play with his canine foster siblings.

Around 2-3 years old now, Denali is not going to be a dog who rushes up to you and chooses you to be his owner. It will be up to you to meet and choose Denali. Once you decide that he is the one, you will need to be patient and work with him so that he gains your trust. If you do that, you will end up with a very loyal and loving dog who will go to the end of the earth for you!

Oreo had some professional photos taken at Dogma this past week and wants to show off how great he looks, as well as let everyone know that he is still looking for a home!

Oreo doesn't like cats or small dogs, but he does love everyone else in the world and likes to go for long walks! Oreo is known as Mr. Personality with everyone and would like to show to you in person!!

Patrick is a Shady Paws Bulldog; he is about 10 years old and a Bulldog that we would expect that would spend this remaining time in a hospice home with rescue providing for his medical care and his foster home providing the love he needs at home.

Jesse came to us as part of a bonded pair with his littermate, Smokey. They were best buddies and hoped to get adopted together, but, sadly, Smokey bloated… even though he was rushed to the ER and had two surgeries, he passed away. Now there’s just Jesse. 😢

Jesse was born on 10-21-17. This gorgeous boy was confused when Smokey didn’t come back, but he’s now settled and is enjoying his walks instead of just looking for his brother. All of the volunteers are giving him extra attention and he back to his joyful self, but he's missing a family to call his own. He attends adoption events and is always so thrilled to meet everyone in attendance. He's great around other large dogs and loves to get attention from anyone who will dish it out.

Jesse grew up with children and has done fine with them. He’s crate trained, house trained, easy on a leash, and ready to find his forever family!
