This was a really fun install just a couple of weeks ago at a house in a historic district just west of downtown Riverside. The new owner of this INNOVA M20 is an artist of all kinds, paint, clay and glass blowing. She has a really sweet Harley too. This was a demo unit, so she scored a killer deal on what is going to be her newest art passion. FYI, she’s already done 6 quilts in 2 weeks.

We lost a legend.

It was the summer of 1975 at the Orange County Fair. We had our typical Viking (at the time) sewing machine booth. All our heavy hitter sales people were there manning the booth. A random scrawny, long haired fellow walks right up to my dad and says,

“I’d like to introduce you to your best salesman”.

Admiring this guy‘s boldness, my dad decides to give him a shot. The only conditions were that Dixon cut his hair and shave his mustache. Our salesman were to be clean shaven. In an increasingly bold move Dixon‘s response is,

“I’ll tell you what, if I’m not one of your top five salesman within the next 60 days I’ll shave my mustache”.

Now, having never touched the sewing machine in his life, Dixon had his work cut out for him. However, not only did Dixon not have to shave his mustache, but my dad grew a ginormous mustache and had it until like 1987.

This was one of Dixon‘s more cherished stories he would tell…at least of the ones that I can share on Facebook.

That summer day spawned a legend. The beginning of a career that would change the trajectory of a man’s life and so many others who knew him.

Last Friday, May 31st, Dixon succumbed to liver cancer, but his stories and his memories will live forever. We’re gonna miss you Brother. May God bless you eternally.

Now I don’t have too many photos of Dixon, old or new. So if any of y’all out there have some good pics feel free to share.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the liberation of Europe. We honor the brave men and women who sacrificed everything. May God bless you eternally

It is because of the brave, the fallen heroes selfless sacrifice that we are here to honor and remember today. May God bless them with eternal love and God bless America.
