I’m the midst of a new project for Thom Browne, taking a fullsuit and transforming it into a sleek spring suit. Thom and I have been creating magic together since 2016, and every text or call from him gets me psyched.

Crafting patterns is an art form—I’m a traditionalist with a wild side, wielding my measuring tape, rulers, French curve, tailor’s chalk, and trusty scissors like a mad scientist in a lab. Bringing his visionary ideas to life is a thrilling ride. The suits I’ve made for Thom have even walked the Paris runway. After 8 years of collaboration, I’m stoked to be Thom’s go-to wetsuit tailor, ensuring every piece radiates exceptional craftsmanship.

The aftermath? Seven screws and a plate now call my ankle home. Two months of immobility followed, a grueling journey of relearning the art of walking. From the exhilarating highs of surfing daily to the abrupt halt of a 100-hour workweek, the contrast was stark, to say the least.

These past six months have tested the very fabric of my existence, pushing both my mind and body to their limits. Yet, within this crucible of adversity, I’ve discovered an inner fortitude I never knew I possessed. Each day has been a battle, a relentless onslaught of physical pain and mental anguish. And yet, through it all, I’ve emerged not merely intact but transformed.

As 2024 unfolds its chapters, I welcome it as a year of profound growth and unwavering gratitude. For in the midst of chaos, amidst the muck and mire, blooms the lotus of resilience. Though the road has been arduous, I find comfort in the knowledge that every trial has been a step towards my own personal renaissance 🤙🏼
