This week, we congratulated Sgt. Mike Manson and Sgt. Monique Beckner on the start of their new assignment… retirement.

Sgt. Manson dedicated 30 years of service to the Costa Mesa community, working a variety of assignments to include: Traffic Safety Bureau, Investigative Services Bureau and was a Team Leader on the S.W.A.T team. Mike finished his career as a senior patrol sergeant.

Sgt. Beckner dedicated 26 years of service to the Costa Mesa community, working a variety of assignments to include: South Coast Plaza Detail, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Crisis Negotiations Team and Investigative Services Bureau. Mo finished her career as a detective sergeant.

Mike and Mo, thank you for all hard years you put into the organization. You both made a difference, leaving a lasting mark on all of us. We wish you the best and congratulate you on finally being, 10-7 (off duty).

Recently, our members participated in the United States Police and Fire Championship Games . Some placed and some were happy to participate in friendly competition. 👏🏼 .

We wish our 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣, Costa Mesa Police Department , Baker To Vegas Relay Team, best of luck 🍀 and a safe return this weekend! They will be competing against other law enforcement teams in a 120 mile foot race!

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, but we want to thank you for your year-round support of our local emergency responders. In 2023, emergency responders nationwide have faced dangers and elevated crimes rates, increasing the calls that our local responders answer.

As of December 1st, more than 150 officers and 80 firefighters have been killed in the line of duty while responding to calls of distress and need to communities just like our own.

Now is the time to band together as a community and show our support for emergency responders who keep our community safe. The stronger and tighter knit our community, the lower the crime rates for our families and potential attacks on our local responders.
