On the asymmetry of our lymphatic circulation: The isolation of the lymphatic circuit feeding the right arm really does create an evolutionary benefit in being right handed and predetermined left handed people to specific trades. There’s a reason right handers are more common that’s left. That there are two lymphatic circuits, namely the right arm and shoulder as one circuit and the entire rest of the body as the second circuit, speaks to an effort to isolate infectious agents affecting the right arm. Imagine reaching your hand into a hole and being bit. There’s a benefit in receiving that bite on your right vs your left hand. You’re able to isolate that infection to the right arm and it will spread more slowly to your internal organs. Alternatively, right handed craftsmen hold their creations in their left hands and tool them with their right hands, predisposing the left hand to more punctures and potential infections. Meanwhile, a left handed craftsman would be receiving the slipped knife thrusts and chisel strikes to their right hand, maintaining the quarantining function of the right arm lymphatic circuit. And lo and behold, left handed folks are characterized as being more inclined to creative pursuits. There’s a reason for that. Sure it might not apply now with modern medicine eliminating these infections as evolutionary determinants. But in our evolutionary history? Absolutely. This just blew my mind. And that’ll be all the nerding for the moment.

Last year we hosted three Wellness & Arts Faires on the 1/3 acre property next door to the healing center and store. I'm excited to announce that they will be returning this year on the fourth Saturdays in July, August, and September. We've teamed up with a new Faire Organizer, Paige Bay. We are planning the faires to be bigger and better!
