February might be designated Responsible Pet Owners Month, but as pet parents we know that responsibility is a 24/7/365 duty that we owe to our beloved fur-kids.

Here are some tips to help you be a responsible pet owner:

✔️Choose a pet that suits your lifestyle. If you are high energy and active, choose a pet who can keep up with you. If you are a couch potato, choose a pet with whom you can snuggle
✔️Socialize your pet
✔️Train your pet — cats and dogs and rabbits and ferrets require training and mental stimulation
✔️Budget for veterinarian visits to keep your pet safe and healthy
✔️Be prepared to pick up poo. If you walk your dog, be responsible and pick up poo. If you have a cat, be prepared to scoop the litter box
✔️Microchip your pet. If you don’t microchip, make certain he or she wears a collar with identification tags and your contact info

Today is National Walk your Dog Day! 🐶

What are some benefits of walking your dog? Here are a few we’ve come up with.

🐾It’s fun
🐾It’s good exercise for you and your dog
🐾It’s a great way to relieve the stresses of the day
🐾If you have a high energy dog, a long walk or a run will tire him out and a tired dog is a happy dog!
🐾It’s a great way to keep your dog’s weight in check
🐾If your dog is healthy enough for a walk, he will enjoy the sights, sounds and smells
🐾Explore a new area — the woods, a dog park, a stroll through your neighborhood

Are you going to take your dog for a walk today? Show us a photo! 👇

Our pets bring us joy, and we love giving them lots of attention! ❤️
But pets can also unknowingly carry and spread germs that can make you sick. Practicing safe handling, like washing your hands after interacting with your pet, will help keep you and your pet healthy. Learn more: bit.ly/benefits-pet.

February is National Pet Dental Health Month! 🦷🪥 Dental disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed problems in pets and, over time, it can seriously impact other systems in the body. A professional dental cleaning will keep your pet’s mouth healthy and work to combat issues like gingivitis and dental disease.

You can prevent dental disease by:

🦷Brushing your pet's teeth daily
🦷Using water additives
🦷Giving your pet oral hygiene chews
🦷Scheduling a professional dental cleaning with your vet
🦷Checking with your veterinarian about products available to help keep those pearly whites clean

If your furry family member is in need of a cleaning or requires any dental work, now is a great time to have it done. 🐾
