Kyinnaaldel' Stick Game
Blaze Burrows, a 2016 Running Strong Dreamstarter, wants to teach the Wailaki Kyin-naal-del' stick game to younger boys through a training program.
In celebration of California Indian Week, RVUSD had a stick game tournament. The boys have been practicing for the last three Fridays. High School and 8th grade young men have been helping to train our 4th - 8th grade boys for this tourney. The weather was good, the field was muddy, and the boys were excited to finally get to play sticks again, after three years, as it was postponed during the pandemic. We had a large crowd, many excited boys, and family members as the students at RVUSD all came to watch and enjoy this native game!
