▪️⚾️THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LOAD IS TO GET IN POSITION⚾️▪️the first question I ask a lot of young hitters that first start working with me is what is the purpose of this pre-swing movement they make? most of the call it their load, and most of them say “to get power”.▪️but power must have direction. this isn’t golf. the goal isn’t to hit the ball straight. the ball must be hit where it is pitched in order to stay connected and have “power”.▪️as a hitter it is up to you to give yourself access to the ENTIRE zone at the top of ur load. before you start to swing. you must be in position to hit.▪️doing tee work that forces you to cover the low & away pitch will reinforce and give you the feel required inside your body to access the entire zone.▪️this is a new concept to Aiden, but as we continue to work this concept the tee position will eventually become his position when it is coming out of the hand, and then translate into live game situations.▪️⚾️

A fun, intensive, interactive and competitive summer speed camp designed for athletes of all sport, ages and ability level. Camp will be structured as an intense training session plus a hands on learning experience as the athletes will go through block periods that cover ground force production, explosive lifting and plyo metric movements to increase power, and recovery/mobility. While also giving easy exercises to perform at home on their own to help with all the attributes of speed listed above. Come ready to work hard, sweat, learn, and compete in various relay races and fastest man competitions!

▪️🧠🦶AWAKEN elite proprioception drill 🧠🦶▫️proprioception, or the ability to control the limbs of the body in space is a crucial part of being an elite athlete. this is a great drill to improve processing system and stimulate the proprioceptive system. red ball is right foot quick step as fast as possible, blue ball is left foot quick step. the ball should be caught independently of feet. meaning, be a freaking athlete and let your arms work and move around separately from your feet and catch the ball no matter where it’s at.▫️▪️

▪️💪 👨🍳 macro hack: cooking meats 👨🍳💪▫️cook meats as lean as possible. this prevents unwanted macros, and calories from sneaking up on you. ▫️when trying to count calories or track ur macros it is important to understand that EVERYTHING u consume is adding calories.▫️when I first start working with people on cleaning up their eating habits, i point out habits that most people have that add unwanted calories unknowingly. one thing that most people don’t consider is cooking meats for example. it’s not that any cut of meat is “bad” per say. ▫️you have some cuts of meat that are very lean (very little fat, lot of protein) and you have some cuts of meat that are little more bulky (good amount of fat, lot of protein). there’s nothing wrong with either cut as long as you are conscious of what you are consuming and how it is prepared, and it fits int your macros for the day. ▪️people will tell me all the time I like lamb or I like steak and I’m like, “there’s nothing wrong with that. but how are you preparing it?” ▫️the problem that people run into is they take a 4oz ribeye (about 17g of fat and 25g protein) marinate it in 2tbsps of oil with some secret bbq sauce. add another 1tbsp of oil during the cooking process and then they will top it off with another slab of butter and more secret sauce before they eat it. ▫️all of that counts for your macros. all of that extra oil, and butter just added about 45g of fat and some extra sugar from the sauce. all of that extra stuff went into the steak throughout the marinating and cooking process and you just ate the steak. so all of that extra counts towards your daily macro and calorie goals.▫️again this is a concept that alot of people aren't aware of or don't really think about, but it is crucial. any dressing, marinade, oil, butter, seasoning counts towards your daily calories. alot of times it is not that the foods we eat are "bad" but the way that we prepare them is.▫️cook your meats as close to bland as you can and use spices and seasonings sparingly once the meat has been prepared. this will help limit unwanted calories and macros from creeping up on you and ruining your fat loss goals▫️👨🍳💪▪️

▫️💪macro hack: other uses for protein powder 💪▪️i know it’s 2024 & almost everyone knows about the convenience of protein powder. it is a simple and effective way to get a quality protein digested when traveling or during a hectic, busy day. just add water, shake and drink. ▪️but some other great uses for protein powder include adding them to your morning coffee, oatmeal or yogurts. it is a great way to get additional protein into some staple everyday foods. and it actually adds quite a bit of flavor to these simple dishes.▪️and everyone will think you are a genius. you’d be amazed at how many people look at me like i’m Albert Einstein when I suggest other uses of protein powder besides just boringly mixing it with water.▪️give these macro hacks a shot and let me know what you think.▪️💪▪️.

▫️⚾️ cutting around the ball vs hitting thru the ball ⚾️▪️ this is a good example of what cutting vs hitting thru the ball means. 2 pitches in very similar outside zone location with 2 different results. one swing Griffin maintains good posture, keeps his hands back (bow drawn) and makes a great initial pull to the ball. this allows him to hit thru the baseball ⚾️ and smash a double in the right center field gap.▪️the other swing Griffin loses posture, hands don’t stay back as much, and which throws off his initial pull and causes him to hit around or cut the ball. this leads to probably a ball that hits back into the L screen that’s not going to make it out of the infield▪️it’s okay to have a bad swing during batting practice, but as you get older it is important to start to assess why? like what was different about these two swings that gave these different results? and what can I do swing wise to increase the number of times I get a more positive result?▪️tell me below ⬇️⬇️ what do you think is the main reason for the difference in the swings? what is the root cause? (often times the answer is ALOT simpler than we think)▪️
