Tavel rosé! Unlike those soft and light Provençals, this Grenache forward Rhône blend sees a bit more time fermenting on the skins yielding a dark, bold, (and yes, we promise dry) rosé that kinda drinks like a really really light red. This bottle holds up to all kinds of food—especially the peak summer produce that abounds in the Hudson Valley right now—so why not snag a bottle and settle into a perfect summer Sunday supper tonight? 🌽🍅🥬

Gramenon! A producer we knew little-to-nothing about. But when the sweetest couple getting hitched at asked us to seek out “this unforgettable bottle they had in Paris one time”—we were up to the task. Knowing that any bottle one discovers in Paris is likely a safe bet, we tacked a few extras onto this special order. A little digging, a little research, a little tasting ourselves and we quickly came to understand the hype. We love introducing new producers, regions, and varietals to our customers, but love it just as much when the tables get turned. And we love that in a shop with just around 400 products on offer, every single one of them has a story. 🫶

No doubt, early summer’s runaway bestseller has been the Solis Lumen Grenache/Cinsault rosé. Bright, soft, and effortless, it’s everything you need in a well-priced thirst quencher. But while filling the cooler with your July 4th BBQ bottles, don’t overlook their Muscat/Grenahce Gris skin contact! Aromatic and amber-hued this one is clean, citrusy, and spicy. We like to call it an orange wine with training wheels—all of the layers and nuance, none of the funk! We’re open 12-7 on Wednesday, 12-4 on July 4th, and regular hours all weekend.

Mind the mess while Reed Street gets a bit of a facelift this week! We’re open regular hours Monday (12-6) and Wednesday (12-7), with shortened hours on July 4th (12-4). 🚧🍷

CROATIAN SYRAH: It’s a thing. Nothing like your inky Rhônes or your rich Australian Shiraz, this quaffer sees just four days of maceration yielding the lightest, juiciest fruit bomb of flavors. We’ve been drinking it fridge cold, and can tell you it is a dream with no-cook charcuterie dinner. Organic farming, natural methods, $22 bucks. Open in the shop and tasting all day!

You know it, you love it! Live music, shops open late, special food and drink on offer. Downtown Coxsackie; Mansion, Reed, and South River Streets. See you there!

Gussied up the Bordeaux shelf this week! These big, bold, bottles might not be exactly what we need as we head into hot summer nights, but when these limited production offerings present themselves—you jump on them!

Maison Blanche Le Colombier de la Metairie ‘19: A younger vine Merlot and Cab Franc Saint-Emilion, this bottle is a perennial favorite in the shop and the obvious way to dial up burger night at home. $34.

Maison Blanche Cease & Desist ‘21: Admittedly the seasonal one of the bunch; a Clairet of mostly Cab Franc and a bit of Merlot. A deliciously chuggable way to make the passé cool again. $29.

Clos du Jaugueyron Margaux ‘19: Hopping over to the left bank, 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc, Michel Theron’s Margaux is an ageable dream and a 10/10 occasion bottle. $128.

Clos du Jaugueyron Haut-Medoc ‘20: Light on the oak, but long on . . . everything else. Your sweet spot splurge that won’t break the bank. $55.

Weekend Liftoff 🚀

On Wednesdays we drink pink! Join us from 4:00 - 6:00 today for the first Wednesday Farmers Market tasting of the season! We’ve got sky full of sunshine, a thermometer pushing 90°, and some delicious cold quaffers to share with you! 😎

Whether you’re in it to celebrate the 1862 Battle of Puebla or to eat the guac, we’ve got you covered this weekend. (And checkout that limited edition yuzu dry curaçao! 👀)

ORANGE CURIOUS? This might be your bottle! These sunny, Sicilian Catarratto grapes spend around 50 hours of maceration on the skins, toeing the line between a big white and a light orange. Whatever you call it—it delivers warm golden notes of stone fruit, melon, and sage. We knocked it back with an antipasti plate for dinner last week. And then again two days later with pork chops and charred cabbage. A delicious, versatile, crowd-pleasing bottle and a downright steal at $19 bucks!

04/05/2024

Happy Friday to everyone, but mostly to this chillable Portuguese chugger. (Which is tongue-in-cheekily named as a palindrome to “Poulsard” a favorite chillable chugger from the Jura! 😏)

03/31/2024

We’ve got your Easter eggs right here. Open regular hours, 12-6 today! 🐣

03/21/2024

Just a boy, standing in front of anyone who will listen, asking them to love this $40 bottle of German skin contact Pinot Gris. Coppery hues, silky texture, tart red berries, and high toned acidity. What’s not to love?

DINNER PARTY WINE: the hardworking bottles that do it all. The crowd pleasers. The ones you pick when you don’t know what your host is serving. The ones that taste just fine out of mismatching glass tumblers. The ones that are interesting, but not divisive (we’re looking at you, Chardonnay, second from the right). Each of these wines ranges from $19-24, a step up from your everyday bottle, and a showstopper at your next dinner party. Now who’s grabbing the Peanut Butter Pandemonium for dessert?

SWEET WINE FOR YOUR SWEETHEART: Stop scrolling and hear us out. We’ve spent years watching you wince, whine, and squirm while we defend the merits of an off-dry wine. Sure, they’re not our go-to all the time, but there IS a time and place, and dare we say that time is today?! Enter, Patrick Bottex Bugey-Cerdon La Cuielle Rosé! A bubbly, heady, and aromatic blend of Gamay and Poulsard, this festive pink sparkler is an absolute delight! Soft bubbles bring elegant notes of strawberry and roses (real tasting notes—not Valentine’s Day schtick!) with a crisp, mineral finish. A bit of residual sugar opens the door for pairing this bottle with a charcuterie board or, yes, a box of heart-shaped chocolates. Sustainably farmed and naturally fermented, this bottle is fun, and approachable, and THE option for going a little rogue—and a little sweet tonight. 💋

We heard it was going to be 50° this weekend, so we went and got you this.
