Friends of the Heermance Memorial Library
The Friends of the Library formed in 1991 to raise funds for books Today, as volunteers, we raise needed funds, develop activities,and sponsor events.
When Eleanor Heermance passed away in 1907 at 87 years of age she donated her home and a trust fund to establish a public library for the people of Coxsackie. In today’s parlance Eleanor “paid it forward.” Recognizing that the gift from Eleanor was a beginning, the Friends of the Heermance Memorial Library formed in 1991 to fundraise for books and were the primary source of book funding for almost
Trivia Night was held a little early in 2024 but that didn't detract from the Halloween spirit. We even had a junior cheering section of the Lane children and friends. l hope they had a blast!
Halloween trivia was a lot of fun! Thank you Jocelyn and Jarrett and all the Cask and Rasher staff for hosting us every month and providing the First Place prizes. I'm glad you participated and ended with a Third Place win! Thank you to Katie and Charles who were our Trivia Masters for the evening. Great game! You really exemplified the spirit of the evening. Our First Place winners for Trivia Night were, "That's Baseball, Suzyn". Their team costumes were great! First Place winners always receive gift cards from the Cask and Rasher for each team member. Congratulations! Use it when you return to protect your title in November!
"Porch Goose Club of America" took Second Place and received a tray of cookies from The Little Bake Shop in Coxsackie. Congrats!

Another fun night thanks to Jocelyn and Jarrett of the Cask and Rasher! Everyone enjoyed a wonderful buffet and a rousing game put together by the night's Trivia Masters, Jocelyn and John. Our top team was, "How Did We All Get Here?" which received gift cards for the Cask and Rasher. Congratulations! Thank you to all the participants who came and supported the Friends of the Heermance Memorial Library. We raised $ 128!
Great game! "Frisbee's Powder Hour" were our Second Place team and received a tray of cookies from the Little Bake Shop on Mansion Street.
Our Third Place Team, "Where is Everyone??", also received a tray of cookies from The Little Bake Shop. I guess they were missing some of our regular teams who were enjoying their vacation.
I hope everyone faired well through the storm. This is just a note to let you know that Trivia Night was moved from Wednesday to Thursday. Reservations are still available so I hope to see you there!

May's Trivia Night was a blast! (So I heard. I was among the redwoods and missed an evening with my Friends at the Cask and Rasher) There were 11 great teams with "Where's Charlie?" and "Trivia Fiends" taking First and Second Place. If you were in the 3rd Place Team, please accept our apologies for lack of acknowledgement and take your bows in the comment area. Thank you to the Cask and Rasher for hosting us every month and providing the top prize, gift cards! You and your staff make it a special night. Our Trivia Masters were the tops! Thank you Jen, Katherine and Meaghan. I was so disappointed to miss your game. Mark you calendars for June 19th! I will be there with lots of enthusiasm. (Sorry no pictures of the teams but here are my grandchildren at the Redwoods National Park.)

We had a great time celebrating Halloween at the annual Friends of the Heeermance Memorial Library Halloween party. Thank you to Ms. Terry for your magnificent Halloween story time, everyone LOVED it! Everyone enjoyed crafts, cupcakes and the balloon artist.
