Seven years ago, Nevan had the opportunity to meet his favorite first musical star-Mr. . Nevan was seven years old and Remy was five. Rem had fallen asleep before making it to the front of the line to meet Mr. Neeley, needless to say, Remy was very upset about that.
Nevan brought with him the Jesus Christ Superstar felt doll he had made to show Mr. Neeley that evening. When it was his turn to talk to Mr. Neeley, Nevan was greeted with such a warm and unbelievably kind greeting. Mr. Neeley had spoken so long to Nevan, asking many questions, that he held up the line behind giving Nevan such time and care.
We were overwhelmed with his wordsβ¦among many, he told Nevan that night to follow his dreams. Nevan paid close attention to those words and he was able to see Mr. Neeley seven years later to tell him in person βthat he has since been in 8 or more productions and is on course to following his dreams.
As we approached, with Remy excited and wide awake, we were greeted with his kindness and grace once again, as he had more to say βto both boys this time.
Nevan and Remy listened very closely as Mr. Neeley told them to βkeep going and to never, ever give up on your dreams.β He told them to promise him they will never give up. βKeep going even if you are told you are too short β¦or too tallβ¦whatever it is just keep goingβ. They promised and they hugged.
Mr. Neeley said βI wish I could see you at one of your showsβ to which Nevan replied β¦βThere will always be a ticket waiting for you at will call.β β₯οΈππ
