Do you look at a computer for work? Many workers do, and most of them report excessive levels of screen time from their work. Too much screen time can lead to blurred vision, headaches, difficulty focusing, and even decreased productivity!
We recommend limiting screen time, whenever possible, and taking plenty of breaks regularly. If this doesn’t improve symptoms, then its probably time for an eye exam and new glasses.
April showers bring May savings! Stop by this month to check out our special promotion for glasses.
Garden City EyeCare closed early today for a team building event at Topgolf! A great time was had by all, and many staff members had their first experience hitting a golf ball.
Today’s the day! While outside of 100% totality, RI should still have a great position for the eclipse today. It is essential to not look directly at an eclipse, including through telescopes and cameras.
Looking at the eclipse without proper protection can lead to significant damage to the retina, including permanent vision loss in your central vision. Only eclipse glasses rated to ISO 12312-2 are sufficient to protect your eyes, not sunglasses or other tints.
We do not have any eclipse glasses available in office, but there are still other local businesses that may, and there are other options such as making a pinhole viewer with a cereal box. We hope you enjoy this rare event!
Today is World Optometry Day! We hope that you will join us in celebrating our wonderful doctors and everything that they do today!
This year March Madness corresponds with Save Your Vision Month! Make sure to let your eyes relax while watching an underdog ruin everyone’s brackets. Approximately every 20 minutes look away from your screens for a minimum of 20 seconds.
March is Save Your Vision Month, and one of the best ways we can protect our eyes is reducing digital eye strain. This eye strain can show itself as blurry or uncomfortable vision, but also as dry eyes and neck pain. Make sure to take breaks and save your vision this month!
It’s International Women’s Day, and we’re recognizing three of our incredible doctors: Dr. Louise, Dr. Medina, and Dr. Lakin. Today, and every day, they work to make Garden City EyeCare the best it can be for our patients.
We have some St. Patrick’s Day savings available this month! Stop by the office to check out our selection of eyewear and see what discount you can get from our pot of gold!
Due to the weather, we have decided to close today. We are working to accommodate any patients who will be rescheduled from this afternoon. Stay safe and enjoy the snow day, everyone!
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we have a special that’s just for you!
Our office is growing, and we’re looking to hire the staff to keep up with it! We have several open positions, both full and part time, available currently. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in applying, send your resume to [email protected]
Did you see this special last week on the Today Show? Many people feel that their vision is great, and as a result think that they do not need to see an eye doctor. However, many of these people could see even clearer with new glasses, and we are also able to detect many subtle changes in the eye before they can cause long term sight loss. Schedule your annual eye exam today!
Why everyone should schedule an annual eye exam Board certified optometrist Dr. Sarah Klibanoff stops by Studio 1A to talk about the importance of annual eye exams and shares the surprising results of Sheinelle Jones’ recent eye exam.
It’s the new year, and time for a new look! Whether looking for an everyday pair of glasses or one with a splash of color for special occasions, we have what you need!
