Teas made from the ONLY naturally caffeinated plant to grow in North America, the Yaupon Holly. We s They called this drink "Asi", or "the purifier."

Hundreds of years ago, the Timucua natives of Florida, along with many other tribes, brewed a sacred beverage from the roasted leaves and stems of the Yaupon Holly. The resulting beverage was a powerful elixir of caffeine and antioxidants, and it came to be a cornerstone of hopewellian civilization. With the arrival of Europeans, the natives slowly died out, and the once mighty Yaupon assumed an i

Yaupon was once a major industry in the Southeast USA, and it’s time has come again! This image shows a man producing Yaupon tea in Hatteras, NC between 1890 and 1910. He was using a “Hogshead” barrel to “sweat” the Yaupon leaves, which is a step sometimes used in processing, (one we do not use here at Yaupon Brothers).

A Hogshead barrel is actually a unit of measurement commonly used in the To***co industry. A standardized hogshead measured 48 inches (1.22 m) long and 30 inches (76.20 cm) in diameter at the head (at least 550 L or 121 imp gal or 145 US gal, depending on the width in the middle). Fully packed with to***co, it weighed about 1,000 pounds.

FLORIDA STATE PARKS COULD BE DESTROYED. swipe to see affected parks.

Here at Yaupon Brothers, we champion conservation of wild public lands, not just in Florida but everywhere.

Like many millions of Floridians, we were appalled to learn of the State and Governor’s plan to build golf courses, hotels, pickleball courts, and more absurdities in our state parks. And the state has only given one week’s notice of meetings in which the public can be heard. Here’s the tea:

🏕️Florida’s state parks have been ranked consistently for years as some of the best in the Country.

⛳️ and his rich developer friends want to destroy our parks by filling them with golf courses, hotels, and other things that can be built LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE.

⏰knowing that this would go over like a toot in the chapel, the State has given the public only one week’s notice of the meetings taking place where our voices can be heard. BUT…

YOU CAN TAKE ACTION:

Link to form letter to FLDEP: https://floridawildlifefederation.org/action-state-parks-threat/

Call the Governor’s office: (850) 717-9337
Call FL DEP: (850) 245-2118

Thank you to the Florida Wildlife Federation for the information slides.

Let’s put this idiotic idea to rest and KEEP OUR PARKS WILD!

We were walking on the street today outside in Beacon, NY and some nice random folks from New Jersey said “are you that awesome tea from Florida?!” Turns out they love our tea and we love anyone who loves Yaupon! We’ve been building the industry for more than 12 years, so it’s always nice to see that work paying off!
