More exciting changes are on the horizon at Thomas More University as work begins to relocate the Education and Psychology departments to the CAPE building. This move will begin in mid-December and be completed by summer 2023.

The Thomas More University Music program held its final concert of 2022 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains on November 30. The concert welcomed nearly 250 audience members, approximately 100 musicians, and featured student soloists through a variety of sacred works. Thomas More University announces Jeni Al Bahrani ’05 as the inaugural director of the Dr. Anthony ’65 & Geraldine ’66 Zembrodt Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. The Center provides an incubator space for students, faculty, and staff to explore and test ideas before advancing them as initiatives.

KET was on campus today talking with Judy Crist, our Executive Director of Communications and Creative Services, about their upcoming feature on the Monte Casino Chapel. The chapel was built in 1878 at a nearby monastery by Benedictine monks, and was once known as the "Smallest Church in the World."
The monks subsequently left the area, the chapel was abandoned and vandalized, then rescued and moved in 1965 to the Thomas More campus.
It is a historical moment for the Thomas More University men's and women's basketball teams, as for the first time in school history, they are both ranked number one in the latest NAIA Coaches' Polls released yesterday morning. Both teams were unanimously the top ranked team, gaining all 42 possible first place votes.
It is the seventh time that the women have been ranked number one since joining the NAIA during the 2019-20 school year, after gaining the top ranking 28 times during their tenure in NCAA Division III. It's the first time in school history that the men are ranked in the top spot.

Dr. Christy Petroze, Education, and Dr. J.T. Spence, Political Science presented research on their efforts to improve civics education at the Lilly Conference of College Teaching held at Miami (OH) University on Friday, 18 November 2022. "A Conceptual Framework Informing Thoughtful Student Engagement with Democracy" presents a framework for high school instructors to use to more easily explain and critically examine the processes and structures of democratic governance, preparing students for an analysis of democratic citizenship that includes appreciating decisional processes and outcomes.

Thomas More University held a celebration yesterday in honor of Dr. Ray Hebert being named one of the five Northern Kentucky Tribune Newsmakers of the Year. Dr. Hebert is a Thomas More University professor and the Executive Director of the Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III ’67 Institute for Religious Liberty (IRL). This recognition is bestowed to high-achieving, community servants in recognition of the significant roles they play in the Northern Kentucky community. Congratulations, Dr. Hebert!

Thomas More University hosted over 50 students from Holmes and Campbell County High Schools today as part of the the Dr. James E. Randolph Medical, Healthcare, and Scientific Leadership Program. The goal of the program is to inspire Black students in Northern Kentucky to become professionals in medical, healthcare, and scientific settings through academic enrichment, leadership development, civic engagement, and mentoring.

Hundreds of high school students are getting a crash course in innovation and entrepreneurship in the hopes of winning scholarships to Thomas More University through Square1’s NEXT business development program. NEXT is a youth development program that utilizes innovation and entrepreneurship skills in preparing the next generation to lead, create, and succeed in competitive academic and business environments. Schools looking to engage with Square1 can do so through the Jan. 31, 2023, deadline for the upcoming contest.

The Northern Kentucky Tribune has named Raymond G. Hebert, Ph.D., Thomas More University professor and executive director of the Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III ’67 Institute for Religious Liberty (IRL), among its 2022 NewsMakers. This recognition is bestowed to high-achieving, community servants in recognition of the significant roles they play in the Northern Kentucky community. The Tribune recognizes five leaders as NewsMakers, each diverse in their regional impact. This year’s award ceremony is virtual. The week of Nov. 14 the Tribune will post a daily story which celebrates each NewsMaker.

Thomas More University is hosting an Open House at our Biology Field Station on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 1-3 p.m. ! Experience the Thomas More difference with a guided tour of our nationally renowned Biology Field Station! Home to state-of-the-art lab facilities funded by generous grants, the Field Station has led the way on aquatic wildlife and water quality research in the Ohio River region for over fifty years.
Thomas More students regularly intern and conduct their own studies at the Field Station, and the site also serves the broader community as a hub for STEM education activities and summer camps. RSVP is not required but strongly encouraged due to limited parking:.

Thomas More University held an Open House and Blessing Ceremony this morning for both Centennial and Covington Halls. The buildings are located directly across the street from main campus. Centennial Hall is home to the Institutional Advancement offices and Covington Hall is home to most of the coaches offices for the athletic department.
Thomas More University is hosting a Campus Ministry Preview Day from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 for prospective students and families, especially those currently enrolled in Catholic schools. Do you want to make your faith a part of your college experience? Are you looking for a fun, active community of truth-seekers like you? Come and learn about the thriving faith and service culture in Thomas More's campus ministry program!
