I thought this might be a better chart for today. The market closed down 19bps today. This chart represents the mortgage backed securities values for one year. In January 2021, we topped the market at just shy of 104. The lowest for the year was just above 99.25. A 400bps change is about a 1% difference. So, on March 19th, we had retail mortgage rates at just about 1.25% higher than the lows of January. Today, the market closed at 101.09 or just about 7/10 (.70) points higher than the January record lows. It's still a great time to get a new mortgage.
