We had a BLAST yesterday at the Annual Community Picnic & Resource Fair. We passed out flyers, locally grown vegetables, and free COVID test kits. It is always a pleasure to be out in the community, meeting new faces and connecting with other local organizations. EXCITING NEWS: The Illinois General Assembly passed H.J.R. 69, the Work Permits for All resolution! 🎉 This resolution sends a strong message to President Biden to extend work permits for long-term undocumented immigrant workers living in Illinois. Huge thanks to the many organizations, business leaders, elected officials, and to you, the advocates, who backed this resolution and helped make today possible!

And special thanks to Deputy Majority Leader in the House, Lisa Hernandez and Senator Karina Villa for getting HJR 69 across the finish line.


NOTICIAS EMOCIONANTES: La Asamblea General de Illinois aprobó H.J.R. 69, la resolución ¡Permisos de Trabajo para Todos! 🎉 Esta resolución envía un fuerte mensaje al presidente Biden para que extienda los permisos de trabajo para los trabajadores inmigrantes indocumentados de larga duración que viven en Illinois. ¡Muchísimas gracias a las numerosas organizaciones, líderes empresariales, funcionarios electos y a ustedes, los defensores, que respaldaron esta resolución y ayudaron a hacer posible el día de hoy!

Y un agradecimiento especial a la líder adjunta de la mayoría en la Cámara, Lisa Hernández y a la senadora Karina Villa por lograr que HJR 69 cruzara la línea de meta.
