Meet Kajal, founder and artist of Henna by Kajal, our henna vendor for Desi Girl brunch! Get to know Kajal and what being a Desi girl means to her:

I have always loved doing anything creative, creating art. I’ve always been interested with our South Asian culture. All the art work I’ve done has always been Indian inspired with henna designs and all. I started doing henna on myself as a hobby on my friends and family. So many people would tell me I should start a business out of it, and so I did. 8 years and still going.

Being a desi girl means embracing my South Asian heritage and identity. I love being a desi girl because of our rich culture, our fashion, our music and dance, and our food. Doing henna at so many South Asian weddings and other events brings me closer to our culture. So proud to be a Desi Girl always and forever.

Meet Kaveri, founder of Rock A Bella Creations, our jewelry vendor for Desi Girl Brunch!

Kaveri started her journey in 2012 with a vision of creating conversation pieces of jewelry that touches the hearts of many around the Globe. She believes that every piece of jewelry is unique and attracts the right customer. Over the last 9 years, Kaveri has left no stone unturned to establish the brand. Her hard work and perseverance is a testimony to the brand presence in over 10 countries, namely – USA, Canada, Kenya, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, UAE, Saudi, Thailand etc.

Kaveri is a passionate, positive, high-spirited and vibrant individual. She believes in infusing positivity in the lives of others and her surroundings. Always upbeat about both personal and professional responsibilities. And does all she can to keep her customers, friends and family lively.

Meet Raia Doshi, founder of Raia Leela & Co, our clothing vendor for Desi Girl Brunch! Get to know Raia below and what being a Desi Girl means to her:

“I have always had a passion for design, fashion and sustainability. I wanted whatever I do in life to help me connect to my roots and to give back to people in my family’s hometown of India. So, I decided to rework vintage saris and kurtas into tops, skirts, dresses, pants and more! Each piece of clothing is one of one and all handmade by a local tailor in Gujarat, India. I am inspired by everything around me, art, media, unique designers and especially vintage styles from the early 2000s.

Being a Desi girl means embracing and celebrating my rich Indian culture. From the textiles and traditional clothes, to the delectable cuisine. I cherish the stories  shared by my elders. It also means acknowledging the challenges my family has endured, which I bear with pride. It means embracing my femininity alongside building resilience. I am so proud to be Indian.”
