We've had another successful year for our community garden! Thanks to the team of volunteers who planted, weeded, watered and harvested the beautiful fruits and vegetables that were donated to the LaVale United Methodist Food Pantry.
God's children nurturing God's creations for the good of our community!
Remember Josiah? He became king of Israel when he was 8 years old. Somehow, he was one of the (very) few kings who is remembered as being a good king. Well, when he was not very old, he discovered the forgotten word of God in the Temple, and ordered the whole temple cleaned up. He ordered the word of God to be read, and the people learned the word of God. You can read Josiah's story in 2 Kings 22 and 23.
We're following Josiah's example...

Just a reminder that you can use our Serrv fundraiser to support artisans and get beautiful gifts for Easter and Mother's Day!
As another consequence of COVID restrictions, we cannot hold our FAIR TRADE FAIR as usual. However, you can order online, which gives you a bigger and more diverse selection than you would have at the Fair.
When you buy handmade gifts and home decor using the web link below, 20% of your purchase will be donated to Christ Lutheran. Using the URL here (www.serrv.org?a=CHRISTLUTH), all of your orders will be designated to our account. You should see an orange banner at the top of the page indicating that it is our site.
Two important points:
· Make sure the URL is correctly typed. If you have typed "serrv.org", but the rest is incorrect, you will be sent to the Serrv site, but not to our fundraiser site. The orange banner is a little slow to show up. Note the spelling of SERRV.
· This site does not work via a smart phone.
Dedicating to fighting poverty through fair trade since 1949, Serrv International works with nearly 8,000 artisans and farmers in 24 countries to bring you the world's most beautiful handcrafts. . There is a short video that you can access at our Serrv site which gives you a good picture of why, we as a Christian Community, would want to buy Fair Trade products. Check it out!
A win-win situation! Fair Trade promotes:
* Sustainable income
* Safe working conditions
* Education
* Equality
Thank you for your support!

The Church Council will make every effort to inform people of this fact at every church activity by publishing an announcement in church bulletins and written programs, on the church’s website and social media pages, and through oral announcements at church activities. In order to protect the safety and privacy of both children and adults, however, you have the right to opt out of being photographed if you so desire. A media opt out form is available by contacting the church office by phone at 301/729-1010 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Parents and guardians of minor children may request a form for each child they would like to “opt out.” Completed forms will be kept on file in the church office so that organizers of church events and designated event photographers can consult these forms prior to an activity.
