Later today NINER'S will be celebrating our 15th HOOLEY PUB CRAWL!!!! We'll have IRISH TRASHCANS, SHAMROCK TEA, SHENANIGAN SHOTS and of course Cold GUINNESS pouring from the tap! We'll be opening at 2pm. There will be 2 bars. Pershing Street will be closed off so the party can pour out into the street on what is supposed to be a gorgeous day! DJ RACOS will start at 8PM and will be playing the dance hits until we run out of beer! By now most should know our system for wristbands. YOU MUST BE 21 and show PROPER ID! We prefer that you bring CA$H just so things run smoother and faster! ATM on site. So let's all get knackered and have a jolly good and SAFE time.

Happy HOOLEY day from NINER'S you bunch of hooligans. Nothing says it's Hooley Day more than when the county health department donates a bag of condoms for you. You know the rules and guidelines but here they are again.
1. You must be 21 with proper ID. There will be one door you must enter Niner's first to get a wristband. Without wristband you won't get served.
2. Niner's will be CA$H ONLY today. So bring ya dollas. There is an ATM on site. We do this to keep things flowing and not slow down the operation. If we have to keep running a card it slows down the bartenders. so CASH PLEASE!
3. Do your best to find a trash can. We've got like 12 spread out everywhere.
4. There will be lines at the restrooms. Please be patient. We will have port-o-johns outside on Pershing street.
5. Pershing street is blocked off from traffic and parking so you may take your drinks outside and enjoy the fresh air. (at least its not snowing).
6. Be safe and drink responsibly. Plan for a DD or someone to pick you up. Its ok to ask for a water to stay hydrated. Don't drink an drive.
7. Try your best to not be a complete as***le and ruin the day for everyone else. Don't be a child and start a fight or rip a sink out of the bathroom wall please.
8. Finally TIP your bartenders. They are working a grueling 12+ hour day. We will have 7 total bartenders at 2 bars. BE PATIENT! If you're waving money or yelling at them I promise you they will AVOID you.

GHOULEY Pub Crawl Day in downtown Cumberland. NINERS only has a couple rules for this evenings party.
1. You must be 21. We will have doormen at each door checking ID and applying a wristband.
2. We prefer that you BRING CASH! Its an incredibly busy time. Using your card slows down the entire operation. We have an ATM on premise.
3. Don't be an ASS! Tip your bartenders, Don't start dumb fights, Don't yell and wave money at bartenders. Be patient, they'll get to you. We will have a second bar in the corner stocked with mostly beer and shot options.
4. The over/under on how many dress up as Max Mayfield or Eddie Munson is 35
5. Be safe. Set up a DD. Consume water.

Happy Hooley Pub Crawl Day! Even though its currently snowing sideways the show must go on. Niner's has 2 simple rules today.
1. You must be 21. There will be doormen at each entrance and you will be carded and then wristbanded.
2. CA$H ONLY! We are not going to run tabs for half of Cumberland and we're not going to run your card every time you order a Bud Light! There is an ATM on site if needed. It makes it easier for the bartenders and it helps serve everyone more quickly and efficiently. If you try to pay with a debit card we will throw a pie in your face.

We will have 2 bars open. 6 bartenders behind the main bar and 2 bartenders in the corner bar.

The back gameroom is off limits and will be closed!

Its going to be frigid cold and insanely windy so dress appropriately and NO WE WILL NOT PUT YOUR COAT SOMEWHERE!!!!

Lastly...

This evening at Niner’s:
1. We have free air conditioning. 71 currently inside.
2. We have Great Grandma Niner’s fresh made Sangria which is delightful on a hot day.
3. Around 8pm we’re having a small Pint Night with Brewdog. Their rep will be here purschasing pints for people giving out some pint glasses etc.
4. AREA9 the areas only full fledged arcade will open at 8pm. Pinball, 80’s arcade games, internet jukebox, pool tables etc.

So here is the latest... We're currently working on getting the band back together. Since our last tour we've all gone our separate ways. We think our lead guitarist Brad has spent some time relaxing in Bora Bora. He hasn't had phone service since June. But our goal is to get back to serving up our classics such as "Dirty Martini", "Something Pink or Blue", "Anything Sour", "Jerry's & Cherries", "Mongolian Mutherfuggers" and obviously our big hit "Bud Light". And of course our next tour we plan to perform at our favorite venue Niner's Canal Pub. So please bear with us as we tune our instruments, select the artwork for our next album cover and get our new stage completed. Tour dates to come.
***We kindly ask that you stop sending us fan mail asking if we've broken up or if someone has left the band or if Niner spent all our earnings on garden supplies and pinball machines. Peace and Love!

We initially set a date to reopen Niner's today but after thinking it over and over and discussing it with my employees I am extending our shutdown a while longer. Honestly I'm basing it solely as a safety and financial issue. For example the game that the Pennsylvania governor is playing with bars is dangerous. One day they're shutdown, then they are allowed to reopen and then they are shut down again. That is a devastating situation to be in for a small bar business or restaurant. It is setting them up for failure. Understand I am not going anywhere. There is a future for Niner's. You'll never hear the words Niner's is out of business and gone. At least not until the Bubonic Squirrels get into our AC units. But for now we're playing it safe. It gives me more time to work on some interior renovations to the joint. I may be doing a walk up window in the near future so stay tuned for that. Until then wear a mask and do your part to help me and others reopen fully and get back to normal. I know some of you don't believe in it but its a compliance that will only help and not harm businesses like mine. Peace and Love!

*** NINER’S CANAL PUB ANNOUNCEMENT ***
To start things off… NO we are not pulling the plug and closing permanently. Damn, I love a good Cumberland gossip story. As most of you know Niner’s is one of those rare places in town where we’re 95% just a BAR/NIGHT CLUB. No offense to our cook Dan, but you’re not usually coming here to dine with the family. PLUS we don’t exactly have outdoor seating. If I were to try that the alley would get uncomfortable real quick and then you add the smokers. So to be clear, I typically run a successful business when I can have a packed bar INSIDE between 9pm and 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. Thats my bread and butter. Thats how I put my imaginary children through college. Without those nights I don’t survive to keep things like taco Tuesday, Thursday trivia or happy hours happening. That being said I want to reopen when things are close to being back to “normal” or almost “normal”. We don’t really know what the new normal is. But for now I’m setting a date of THURSDAY, JULY 16TH. Whether you think thats too far away or too soon… well you’re entitled to your own thoughts. (Please no more death threats) I feel it’s our best way to get back to “Normal” and I as well as my bartenders can make some money. NOT TO MENTION we are currently working on some updates to the bar. Speaking of updates… here’s an update on my staff, my manager Brad has been hiking the Appalachian trail since April. Except for a postcard we have not heard from him since. Our dear Missy has started a new “Mother Earth Meditation” group down near Green Ridge. Apparently she wants us to start selling her homemade Ayahuasca at the bar when she returns. Instead of going to bed at 4am our wonderful Kiersten is now waking up at 4am and slinging lumber, paints and plants at Lowes. If you see her, her hair color this week is Periwinkle. That leaves Dan our cook. I heard from the Dominoes delivery guy that Dan has barricaded himself in his basement and has reached level 49 on Conquest of the Crystal Palace. So WE WILL BE OPEN SOON! July 16th is not that far off. Get your taxes done the day before. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again. Peace and Love!

So this is a bit last minute. Niner's will be participating in our 11th Hooley Pub Crawl. Just saying that is hard to believe. And I must say we've dealt with rain, wind, cold, and even beautiful days but never a pandemic. We will be open and ready to serve you. But we want to be safe. If you're sick stay home. If you come out create some space. I'm calling this "Hooley Lite" this year. It's more important than any other Hooley that we look out for each other. We be safe. We make necessary precautions. We will have two bars set up. OUR BACK ROOM "AREA9" WILL BE CLOSED! We invested too much time and money into creating that fun environment for it to be destroyed in one day. We will have Port O Johns outside. Per usual we ask THAT YOU BRING CASH! It just makes everything run so much smoother for us. We now have an ATM on site. So grab some cash, some hand sanitizer, set up a designated driver, Beware of your surroundings. Lets make another Hooley, even under these circumstances, a successful and safe one! Peace and Love!
