Earlier today, we supported a tabletop exercise which had the State Board of Elections and all 23 local Board of Elections staff participate. It was held at the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections facility in Glen Burnie.

We want to thank all who took part. You're helping us make Maryland more prepared for any emergency that might come our way.

Candidate filing for the 2024 Presidential Election closes at 9pm tonight for the state of Maryland!

During the 2024 Winter Conference, National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) posthumously awarded the 2023 Margaret Chase Smith American Democracy Award to Laura Wooten.

Nominated by Lt. Governor Tahesha Way, New Jersey Department of State, Ms. Wooten served as a poll worker in every primary and general election for 79 consecutive years in the state of New Jersey.

Yvonne Hill, her daughter, accepted the award.
