Folks enjoying themselves at the famed Eldorado Ballroom in Houston, late 1940s. The ballroom, built in 1939, is a historic venue in the 3rd Ward, a place where legendary performers like Jewel Brown, Lightnin' Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles, Bill Doggett ("H***y Tonk"), and the original Guitar Slim, Eddie Jones, played. It is located at the intersection of Dowling Street and Elgin Street in the Bayou City and still stands to this day. This is what it looks like on the outside. As you can see, it's getting a big makeover/restoration. SO COOL!

Not one to toot my own horn, but in this case- Toot Toot!! 30 years is a long time to be working here at Impressions with Brian. When I first met him, I didn't know what Impressions did. In fact I wanted him to make something out of wood for my dad, and that prompted our first date! I have raised my babies at Impressions, their playpens next to my desk, and then they would nap under my desk. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to raise them here. And I have learned alot of woodworking and never would have imagined I would be drafting/ programming our equipment. Brian knew I could do it, so I did!! And now I am most proud of the "fun" work I get to do- which is back to what I thought Impressions did, carving/ impressing things into wood!!

#36 So exciting when you pass by a project installed 10 years ago, and the project is just as nice as it was when installed!!
No surprise- our work is built to last!

#35 Brian is not "all work and no play" We were able to take all employees and spouses to dinner celebrate Impressions 40th!

#34 MARS Studio. We have collaborated on many projects with Kelie Mayfield. Most of our "magazine" jobs are Kelie's designs. From our first project with backlit veneer on glass, "Marlboro"/ cigarette table, the George hotel in College Station, we continue to do always interesting work!!
Special note to the beautiful "Texas Tea Rope" Wall at the George. Hand dyed and woven- it faces the Texas Flag Book wall.

#33 Sometimes building our product is the easy part. Getting it there....
Brian started out with just his truck, and then a trailer, and then a covered trailer AND THEN..... (yes I am using AND THEN on purpose) a fleet of trucks!!
We have traveled thru almost all 48 states delivering our merchandise. Safe and on time. Very proud of that "fact"!

#32 Brian was asked to do a lecture on being an entrepreneur at Texas A&M for the Freshmen Business Initiative. One of the questions asked, "What does it mean to own your business". Brian quickly replied, "You don't own your business, the business owns you!!" Also note: "Keep the mindset that you are always unemployed, always looking for work".

#31 Well I didn't get all 40 in the month of February, so I am going to keep at it until I complete all 40!!

#30. Celebrating 40 years! Smaller gathering than we would have wanted, but we had a video of some that couldn’t be there!

#29 Impressions has been very fortunate to have some amazing
past employees that have helped us continue to grow. David Bosse, Amos Parsons, Larry Adkerson, Juan Rodriguez, Tom Veale, Jake Dumaine, Arthur Moehr, to name a few.

#28 We have had alot of employees come and go, Ashley Schumann has been with us for over 20 years. Working his way through the shop, running CNC equipment, plant foreman and now to Project Manager- Ashley has and can do it all. Two years ago- he earned a special Impressions Ring. Thank you Ashley!!

#27 Have you been to a Simon Property Mall? Chance are you may have seen our work. Over 200 malls received our guest services booth and/ or other accessories. Across the country, on time, delivered and installed.

#26 We have been very fortunate to work with some very important clients. We have been working with Jiffy L**e for over 20 years.

#25 Brian went to the church and talked about the altar furnishings to the children in the catholic school. Complete with an altar replica in Legos!!
