Doug is perfect for this position! He has honor and integrity. He is community minded, and has a heart for people. He extended a huge hand to me and the salon during the winter our pipes burst. You have my vote Doug!

I will be out of the salon for about two weeks. Please text or leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I have a favor to ask.
Would you please pray for me, or send your good vibes. I am having a heart ablation in the morning and I know there is strength in numbers. I am bound and determined to hand this over and NOT be afraid. But it comes and goes.
They have a newer technique they have been using now for around 8 months, and the risks are lower. I am blessed not to have many symptoms while in Afib 100% of the time, but if this works I could be out of Afib for years and off of blood thinners. Amen!
Thank you and love you guys! See you soon,
Denise

It is with great sadness we announce the death of our friend, and Colleen’s client Jean Shaddock. Jean was an Air Force veteran and we met her next door at the Masons during one of their BBQ and bake sales many years ago. Some of you may know her as the wife of our “tomato-guy” John Shaddock or Farmer John. She brought his tomatoes into the salon those many years ago and we’ve been hooked for years. Jean passed away Sunday, August 13th. RIP Jean, we will miss you. And God bless your family at this time.
“Funeral arrangements have been made for this Saturday. 12-2:00 visitation and 2:00pm funeral at Flanigan's funeral home in Buford, GA.
We all appreciate your love, thoughts and prayers during this time.”
Kristi-daughter.

Hahaha!
This is a recommendation just in case anyone needs an excellent roofing co.
In addition to the water damage from the pipes bursting, we recently had a significant roof leak.
Our neighbors next to us - “Good Shepherd Roofing” resolved the problem. I cannot say enough good things about Doug and Dustin. Nice, experts, integrity, prompt, communication+, old-school quality and service.
Look them up on Facebook and Google.
Worth repeating. “If you ask most parents, teachers, daycare providers, and other folks that are forced to deal with head lice on a regular basis, they'll tell you that there are three primary “seasons” when head lice infestations are common. They are back-to-school in the fall, after winter break, and after spring break.”
Head lice can be a touchy (and itchy!) topic, but it’s something almost every parent has to deal with at one point or another. If you’re a mom with a child with lice, we at The Look Salon hope this article is helpful. Included is information on how lice spread, what to do if your child gets lice, and what to do afterward.
1. Don’t blame yourself. Anyone can get head lice – it doesn’t matter how many times you bathe or how clean your home is.
2. Don’t stay silent. The teachers at your child’s school can tactfully spread the word without naming your child. Speaking up about one occurrence can prevent an outbreak.
3. Don’t think you’re alone. There are things you can do and places you can go to help you get rid of this pesky problem.
How Lice Spread:
• 99% of cases of head lice occur from head-to-head contact. Sure, girls who put their little heads together for photos and little boys who wrestle are adorable, but this is a prime opportunity for head lice to spread.
• 1% of cases of head lice occur from sharing brushes and other hair accessories or hats.
• Did you notice how lice spread? Are you surprised they don’t actually jump or fly? That’s a common misconception.
What to Do if Your Child Gets Lice:
• If you suspect head lice, invest in a black light, which makes lice and nits highly visible. The models that plug into the wall work best.
• Once lice are confirmed, call your school, daycare, extra-curricular activity leaders, and/or your babysitter. (If you treat your child but don’t inform anyone, the chance of recurrence from a friend or classmate goes way up. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends healthy children continue to attend school regularly immediately following treatment. Your school can tell you if its policy is different.)
• Check everyone in the home – including yourself – and prepare to treat everyone at the same time.
• Your local pharmacy has several products to treat head lice.
• Natural products are available, too. Coconut oil will kill the lice, but won’t affect the eggs.
• Your pediatrician may choose to prescribe a medication for severe cases.
• You can also visit a head lice specialty salon, like Head Hunters and others. (Head Hunters web site is: http://www.headlicespecialist.com/)
What to Do after Treatment:
• Wash the child’s bedding – yours, too, if they climb into your bed. Run their favorite stuffed animal through a hot dryer for 30 minutes. (Bagging all stuffed animals, although once thought to be necessary, is actually not.)
• After your child has been treated, or even if they’ve only been exposed to a child with lice, braid or pin up their hair.
• A second outbreak is possible after the first 30 days because the lice leave an odor behind which attracts new lice. Keeping your child’s hair braided or pinned up is a great line of defense. Many experts advise doing this for several weeks.
• Use your black light to check for a recurrence.
We hope this article has been helpful. We appreciate your business and chose to write this simply because we care about you and your family!
