One of our favourite farmers, Rodney (AKA Rod-the-bod!) brought us the biggest and most beautiful eggplants! We couldn’t NOT do eggplant parms!

Just the classic, with a little olive and herbby salad on top!

Little special on tonight… compressed melons from with leche de tigre, pickled/roasted hot pep peps, ground cherries, cilantro, corn nuts, a little whipped ricotta, and lime. It’s kinda like a melon ceviche. Very demure, very mindful.

If you guys like it, this dish might make an appearance on the Tuesday night menu!!

THAT’S RIGHT - WE’RE OPENING ON TUESDAY NIGHTS!!!!!

Not only will we be open every Tuesday for dinner, but we will also be offering the option to purchase ANY BOTTLE FROM THE CORNER STORE! With a flat corkage fee of $15, it’s a great opportunity to try something new!

We’ll also be offering a special menu of small plates. Big inspo from the tapas night used to do. We used to love going there on our days off! Small plates means you can try more things!

When you work in the restaurant industry your “weekend” is usually somewhere between Sunday and Wednesday. That’s when most restaurants are closed… so we always struggle to find places to go on our weekends. We really have our industry pals in mind for Tuesday nights!

CORNAPALOOZA!!

It’s corn season! If you’re not stopping at a farm stand on the side of the road to load up on the good stuff, you need to reevaluate your life choices! This gold is from our pals and it is delicious (duh!)! We love corn so much that our tiny little menu actually has 3 corn-centric dishes!

and have been absolutely killing it on the dinner menu! Here we have some local sweet peppers stuffed with scallop mousse in a silky corn sauce, with soppressata chips, tarragon, and a Calabrian chili oil 🌶️🌶️🌶️. It has the most joyous, bouncy texture!

We also switched up our pasta for this rift on a cacio e pepe with corn and Compté. So creamy, simple, so delicious!

HOLY MACKEREL!

put together this beautiful new fish dish! Teriyaki-glazed mackerel, with a mix or local sautéed eggplant, bok choy, peas, and lemon balm, all swimming in a simple dashi.

We paired it with an ice-cold Italian Pecorino (white wine from Abruzzo that is fresh, salty and endowed with Italian lightness, citrus fruits, and tart herbs).

TOMATOES ON TOAST!

We talk a lot at Corner Peach about what’s “worth it” to us. What’s worth our time, our sweat, our sanity. No matter how thin we cut our chives and how many times we strain our sauces, not much is better than local tomatoes swimming in their own juices with a good aioli, sitting on our sour dough toast. Crunchy-gone-soggy heaven! Freshest, most simple, celebration of where we live and what the Ottawa valley tastes like.

The tomatoes came early this year with all the heat, not sure how all this rain is going to affect them but they’re here now and they are spectacular!

Bluesfest kinda messes with our flow. We’re usually busy early during Bluesfest and then kinda dead at our normally busy times (7:30-9). So come do a walk-in or check out Resy to reserve. Bluesfest also kinda kills the parking in the area so I would Uber/walk/bike if I were you. 😳

LAMB’S QUARTER GNUDI!

🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿

Listen, when a local farm reaches out with the promise of wild spinach we jump on it! brought us a huge load of beautiful lamb’s quarters (which we never get to work with!!) as well as heaps of garlic scapes. If it grows together it goes together, so and whipped up these absolutely, gorgeously delicate lamb’s quarter gnudies, finished with a brown butter vinaigrette and lightly pickled garlic scapes.

If you’re not familiar with Lamb’s Quarter, “ …[it]is an annual wild edible that is a member of the Amaranthaceae family (in the genus Chenopodium). It was once thought that it was native to Europe. However, recent archaeological studies show that the seeds were stored and used by the American Blackfoot Indians during the sixteenth century. Lamb’s quarters is a purifying plant that helps to restore healthy nutrients to poor quality soil.”
“Common names include melde, goosefoot, wild spinach, and fat-hen….”

It’s basically wild spinach. It is RICH in vitamins and minerals and has a very mild “green” flavour.

This dish is an on-till-it’s-gone type of situation, so come grab some while you can!

NEW FOR SUMMER!

We’re really diving into summer Korean BBQ vibes with this one! Super thin pork chops, seared hard, served with a sweet ginger-peach “plumb sauce”, chili crunch, crunchy charred turnips, and a quick-kimchi.

Turnips from and kimchi made with PURPLE nappa cabbage from (that’s why it’s this amazing neon fuchsia!).

The peach sauce was made from the last of the Ontario peaches we preserved last year.

Loving how early all the local veg is this year! It’s only June! Let’s hear it for our farmers!

Little special special for you sweet babies this week…

Dandelion greens with a charred chickpea dressing and a big dump of parm. It’s so simple, so deliciously bitter and satisfying. We highly recommend it with all of our big plates. It works really well when slightly wilted, so mixing it in with your hot mains is a real pro move.

And yes I’ve accepted my slow decent into gramma-picking-dandelion-greens-on-the-side-of-the-road and I’m ok with it.

New toast on the dinner menu tonight. Inspired by my time and their iconic jambon et fromage dish… which I have been really craving lately.

Sourdough toast, aioli made with Comté cheese, shaved smoked ham from .western.beef , a little more Comté for good measure, and some gherkins. This weird cheese aioli is crazy!
