How Do You Define Luxury? I had a wonderful time this Thursday when I served as a panelist for the ACTA - Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors panel on "Emerging Patterns in Luxury Travel : Exploring Trends & Dynamic Demands of the Luxury Market."

One of the questions was how I define luxury.

I shared my admiration for famed travel writer, Pico Iyer, who has said, "Luxury is what you don't have to worry about."

And for me - luxury comes down to ensuring you consider:
*Personalization,
*Time,
*Access,
*Sustainability, and
*Wellness.

PERSONALIZATION - Luxury travel is what it means to the client. It's up to the client what they consider luxury. Is it a secluded villa? A Private tour? Or off the beaten path.

TIME - As a former actuary, I believe luxury travel is where Return on Investment meets Return on Life. Your time is your biggest non-renewal asset. And I work to ensure you have efficiency and convenience, and make the experience as seamless as possible.

ACCESS - Being a luxury travel advisor means I can leverage my relationships to give you access to things you can't google and find yourself, and that includes everything from VIP experiences, fast-tracking through airports, after hours tours, visits to remote spots, specially curated experiences with chefs, etc.
