Open to all current Visual Arts BFA students in Dahlonega and Gainesville. We invite you to submit your work to the first juried BFA student exhibition. The show will be on view in the Roy C. Moore Art Gallery on the Gainesville campus from September 30 to October 25.

UNG students, this is for YOU! Submit up to two artworks in any media to Roots - UNG 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibition. This is the fourth exhibition of its kind at our university. In 2024, the juried event invites all UNG students regardless of ethnicity to reflect upon our heritage as part of our family’s countries of origin. Artworks interpreting this broad theme are welcome. There are six unranked awards to be selected by an external juror. This year, our juror is Carlos Solís, Atlanta-based artist of Venezuelan origin.

Alongside the juried show, we will have a guest artists’ exhibition featuring established artists from the North Georgia/Metro Atlanta area.

Looking for an internship? The Visual Arts department is looking for an intern(s) for Fall 2024 to help manage the social media accounts and promote the visual arts department! Unpaid internship - credit offered!
Responsibilities include ✨
➡️ Assist the faculty & art clubs in promotions
➡️ Promote art gallery exhibitions & departmental updates
➡️ Manage our social media posts thru our social media marketing platforms
Skills ✨
👉 Working knowledge on design software, specifically Adobe InDesign (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or both is a plus)

Student gallery assistant✨
* The Student Gallery Assistant is responsible for helping students with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and helping with minor patching and painting of the walls and pedestals.
* The assistant would also help the students to advertise their exhibitions by hanging posters and assist with any other student gallery related tasks.

*The Studio Assistant will contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and functioning working space in the Painting, Drawing, and 2D Studios.

Ceramics Studio Student Assistant ✨
-Student assists professor in multiple duties associated with maintaining the ceramics lab such as loading kilns, grinding and kiln washing shelves, pugging clay, mixing glazes, assisting in inventory, studio upkeep, Cleaning, ect.
-Monitor the studio outside classes and assist students as needed.
-Student enforces safety and security in the lab and assists students as needed.
Visual Arts Student Assistant✨
-Assist with clerical duties (pick up mail, answer office phone, put up and take down posters) as needed by Visual Arts faculty and staff.
-Assist with art exhibition activities as needed by Visual Arts faculty and staff.

The graphic design society club is one of many clubs hosted at the Gainesville campus. The Graphic Design club is a diverse community of design thinkers and creatives. Their goal is to educate and provide resources to current students and encourage them to take steps in starting their graphic design careers! The Department of Visual Arts - UNG would like to congratulate and recognize our students on their contribution to our community. Ung visual art Students worked together to paint a 'Discover Dahlonega mural on panels that will be displayed in Downtown Dahlonega Georgia. Students also worked in Gainesville on mural Projects at a behavior health crisis center called Avita.The Avita project included a mural that is displayed in the meal room and also a mural right by the door where patients exit the facility after receiving services.
