SRBailey Farm
breeder of Myotonic Goats, KuneKune Pigs, and Buff Orpington/American Bresse/Copper Rock Maran chickens
Tinker Bell was so ready to pop! She gave birth last night to 6 small babies - all boys!!!
Found a perfect mold for my goat milk and lard soap (goat milk from our goats and lard from our pigs). This one is pumpkin spice to get color like Kunes😁
This wasn't actually planned 🥹 but Tinker Bell is definitely pregnant and due in about 12 days. It is hot and she is miserable🥲
When chickens don’t want to go inside the coop . . . There’s a reason😣
Final count 25 chicks (she only hatched 4😅).
Some of Porka Dot's babies are enjoying the pond for the first time! So many of them are hanging around the pond today😆
updated count is 19 chicks (4 she hatched; 15 from incubator) - chicks are American Bresse, Copper Rock Marans, and Easter eggers. there's also a buff orpington hen sitting on half dozen eggs due next week.
Our broody Copper Rock Maran hen finally hatched some babies yesterday (3 or 4; other 10 are hatched in incubator). Her first attempt didn't yield any hatchlings so this was her second attempt. Glad she finally had some babies after 42 days🥲of sitting patiently.
Picture of some of our boys trying to cool down during the hot day😅
Sadie’s proud catch - this bunny’s been feasting in my garden for some time.
Picture of Jojo (larger one) and Friar - Friar's been sick and just recovering but . . . She's twice as big as her brother!
Porka Dot is enjoying being sprayed since she has no access to pond currently (she's in her separate area with her babies). Those two piglets found little bit of water in the wheelbarrow (they do have a small pool 🥲). And picture of Porky's three brown and white piglets.
Several small trees came down because the ground is so wet and saturated from all the rain! Goats finally found those down trees and are enjoying the feast!
Porka Dot's babies enjoying pool on a hot day! I need to let them out to join the others for Porky have access to the pond! It's getting hot!
Babies are getting more adventuresome! Venturing out into the woods without mama! (just following older gilts).
Last few days been pretty hot around here in east Texas! (In 90’s) pigs are trying to stay cool🥵😆
Name of Snowdrop's baby will be Han Solo since he was born on May 4th😅😂
Snowdrop gave birth to a very big single boy yesterday!
Nursing eight 8 week olds are tough 😅🥲 Pippin only nurses couple times a day now.
Porky's babies are outside for the first time! Most have names now 😁😅
Over 4 inches of rain and strong wind yesterday! Pur pond is over flowing and wind took down some big limbs - at least goats are enjoying them.
Merry and Pippin's babies are now out of farrowing pen and meeting other pigs! They are not going too far yet but moms needed pond to cool down! It's been so humid her in east Texas.
Porka Dot had her first litter! (While 6 week olds looked on😆). 8 piglets - 4 girls and 4 boys (sadly we lost one later in the day) so 7 total. 3 of them are brown and white with agouti stripe. There always seem to be one who cannot find teat …🥹
We have combined two litters (15 piglets!), so Porka Dot can use the other farrowing stall as she is due this Saturday! Feeding frenzy😆
So cool to experience totality! Our goats and pigs were bit confused😅
It's sunny and warm - and piggies have found water!
Pippin's babies are two week old today! They are growing nicely and just starting to show interest in solid food.
