Another week of CME DRAFT has closed with some strange occurrences. HOW YA'LL DOING? Is it well with your soul?
“Christianity started out in Palestine (North Africa) as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an oppressive enterprise.” Sam Pascoe
DEAR PASTOR,
Your church should not be withholding social security tax from a minister's wages. If they are, they are doing it wrong. You may be able to get a refund of the social security that was withheld on a W-2 by filing form 843. According to this IRS publication (https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-843), you may file a form 843 to issue a refund to an employee of social security or Medicare taxes that were withheld in error, but only if your employer will not adjust the overcollection.
Show your thanks by following and sharing this post.

KEYS NOTES
One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.”
2 Elisha said, “I wonder how I can be of help. Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Nothing,” she said. “Well, I do have a little oil.”
3-4 “Here’s what you do,” said Elisha. “Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a few—all you can get. Then come home and lock the door behind you, you and your sons. Pour oil into each container; when each is full, set it aside.”
5-6 She did what he said. She locked the door behind her and her sons; as they brought the containers to her, she filled them. When all the jugs and bowls were full, she said to one of her sons, “Another jug, please.” He said, “That’s it. There are no more jugs.”
Then the oil stopped.
7 She went and told the story to the man of God. He said, “Go sell the oil and make good on your debts. Live, both you and your sons, on what’s left.”
MORE THAN ENOUGH!
You have what you need. You need only the wisdom to recognize what seems like "NOTHING" as the abundant blessing God provided when you were focusing on the problem.
Danny Simpson lived in Ottawa Canada. The year was 1990, and Danny was desperate. He didn't have the resources he needed to survive. He was short on cash, and shorter on skills. He had run out of time and options, so Danny took the gun that had been handed down through his family's line, went to a bank, and robbed it of $6,000 in a hold-up.
Danny wasn't very good at robbing banks, and he was promptly arrested. At the trial, two significant things happened. First, Danny was sentenced to six years in prison. His opportunities to succeed in life dropped to minute proportions. But second, as the courtroom looked closely at the evidence, folks really looked at the weapon he'd used. It was a .45 C**t semi-automatic, the kind gun collectors look at with salivating stares. it was an antique, this gun, made by the Ross Rifle Company in 1918. And it's value? About $100,000.
Did you catch that? Danny robbed a bank for $6,000, while holding $100,000 in his hands! In other words, Danny already had what he needed, without even knowing it.
THINK ABOUT IT: What/who are discarded because it doesn't fit your description of "More Than Enough"?

KEYS NOTES
If I am so special to you, let me in on your plans. That way, I will continue being special to you. Don’t forget, this is your people, your responsibility.” God said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.” Moses said, “If your presence doesn’t take the lead here, call this trip off right now."
--Exodus 33:13-15 (MSG)
Moses faced challenges that are far beyond what most of us can imagine. He was tasked with leading the Children of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land. Despite the miraculous power of God revealed in the plagues that freed them from bo***ge and the ongoing miracles of provision and protection they benefited from, the Israelites were not content. They often complained about both Moses’ leadership and God’s provision. Rather than being grateful and confident, they were covetous and fearful.
The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is poised to convene another General Conference in a few days. Like Moses, we (delegates) face the challenge of leading God's people into the promised furure of our Zion. Yielding to the temptation to maintain status quo and promote personal agendas will result in a return to bo***ge. For such a time as this, we are called to "set the captives free, open blinded eyes, heal the sick, & proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." This can only be done by abiding in the presence of God. Through God's Word and through prayer we enter into close fellowship and communion with God, and it is only through the power that we receive there that we can triumph over that which seeks to steal, kill, & destroy
Today’s Growth Principle:
Do not allow anything to rob you of the peace and comfort that come from living in the presence of God and obeying the will of God.
