Bartimaeus Baptist Temple

We are a ministry to and through people and families affected by disability. God created you with a purpose.

Our mission is to help you find it and equip you to accomplish it. We strive to be a church where everyone can feel welcome and be inspired to become all that God meant for them to be regardless of disability. Our facilities are wheelchair accessible and we provide media presentations in alternative formats for blind or visually impaired participants.

BRRRR! It's cold! This is one of those mornings I am especially grateful to be part of a church that doesn't start until 2:30 in the afternoon. The service time originally came of necessity and was found to be best for the people we serve, so we kept it that way. One of the churches my father pastored when I was young also had an afternoon service....

It already seems to me the year is moving fast. Valentine's day will be on Wednesday. Our outreach on March 16 will be here before you know it. I'm excited to see what God will do. This Sunday, we're in John 18:1-11. After concluding His prayer, Jesus brings His disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane. Judas knows the place, because they often met there....

Message by Larry Thacker Jr. from January 7, “When God Prayed for You, Part 1” John Chapter 17 is very special because it contains Jesus’s prayer for us! John has included a great deal of detail in his gospel so that we cannot miss the deity of Jesus as well as His huma…

It is my belief that God has been preparing us for new and better things, and it is my expectation that this is the year that we will begin to see those new thing. Let us rise to meet the challenge. Message by Larry Thacker Jr. from December 31, “What Are You Waiting For? – 2023 version” I’ve never been a big fan of enslavement to the calendar, but the changing of the year does provide us with an opportunity to evaluate where we’ve been and where we’re going. Many…

Sometimes things get a little personal, particularly during our Sunday School sessions. In those instances, we do not publish a podcast episode so that we protect the privacy of our members. In other cases, we may edit out portions of the recording. There is usually a complete recording available. If you are a regular attendee and wish to have it sent to you privately, we may be able to do that with permission of the people involved.

Merry Christmas, y'all! This Sunday will be our traditional Christmas celebration. The traditions have changed a bit in recent years, but I think they are better because we all have something to give. We'll have a short service. Message by Larry Thacker Jr from December 10, “When God Was Born” 12/11/2023

This is a reprise of a sermon from December 20 of 2020. Honestly, that one is better. We love this season. As Christians we know that there is no Christmas without Christ, but there are no words to adequately capture the significance of what happened that day. Jesus described Himself as the beginning and the end. He was and is and is to come. ...
