We are constantly replacing aluminum systems with our Patented, Engineered, 22 gauge Hot Dipped steel system. The only product with a true lifetime warranty. Installed Nationwide in 1991. The first picture is the aluminum system, the second picture is the ceiling removed and being carried away on our trailer. The last picture is our system installed and ready for a lifetime of use. I offered our Undercover System to a builder in Roswell almost 3 years ago to the date. We have done many jobs
for this builder in the last 20 years and he knew our quality, workmanship, and excellent customer service. The architect on this project decided to go with a less expensive "aluminum" system and now the homeowner is paying for his decision.
I got a call from the builder last week asking that I come by and meet with him and the homeowner.
What I found was sadly what we see over and over again with these inferior systems. The entire system was rotting from the inside due to corrosion that occurs when using aluminum with pressure-treated wood. This system had been installed only three years and was riddled with holes. The homeowner thought that the flaking paint you see in the following pictures was paint failure but when he examined more closely, he discovered that these were weak spots that he could easily push his finger through. If you or anyone you know is considering an under deck system, please do you homework before making an costly mistake like this homeowner and many others have as well.
