We are excited to announce the introduction of our Spanish Enrichment Curriculum! 📚 With this new program our students will receive Spanish lessons at a minimum of 3 days a week, starting in our young toddler (12 months) classroom!

We have been working hard to refocus our classrooms and provide a print rich, bilingual, early education program to improve our students emerging language and reading skills.

Bienvenida Ms. Viviana, she is leading this new curriculum! She is a native Spanish speaker and is eager to start teaching! 👩🏻‍🏫🌎

A feelings chart is a tool to help children identify and express their emotions. 💞 Save this post to use this feelings chart daily with your family.

Start the day by having each member identify how they are feeling in the morning. Throughout the day, family members can change how they are feeling and identify it using the chart as needed. This will help to spark dialogue about feelings and how family members can help or celebrate with one another.

Some benefits of using a feelings chart at home:
- Gives children the opportunity to think about how they feel and learn how to communicate it
- Helps children develop emotional literacy
- Helps children find words for their feelings

At Kiddie Academy, one essential center is the cozy corner. This special area provides children with a safe and comforting space where they can calm down and develop self-regulation skills. It's a warm, inviting spot away from the hustle and bustle of the classroom, designed for times when children feel sad, angry, frustrated, nervous, or tired. The cozy corner offers a place for kids to take a break, helping them to identify and regain control of their emotions.

The Pre-K classroom at transformed into future city planners as they designed their own city grids. This activity sparked creativity in each child, allowing them to brainstorm and discuss with their classmates the vision for their city.

Our kinder prep class has had the best time this week learning all about volcanos! 🌋

To help bring the lesson to life they got to make their very own volcano and watch it erupt using baking soda and vinegar!
They also got to eat a tasty volcano made out of rice crispy treats and icing!! 😱🌋

Use quiet time to teach your 4-year-old about healthy eating. Ask your child to think about which foods would be included on a healthy plate. Talk about how those foods make us feel. Talk about the foods that don’t provide a lot of nutrition and how those foods might make one feel tired and less energetic. Invite your child to look through each of the grocery store circulars (or printed pictures from the Internet). Encourage him or her to cut out pictures of the healthy foods and paste them on to the paper plate or construction paper. Discuss the pictures that your child has chosen for his or her collage.
